To be completely 100% honest...I hate sensor beams. They are undoubtedly one of the hardest security checks to go through. That's what those little red bumps on the side of the walls were, little things that projected the lights in various directions.

We got passed the security lock, My heart fell in my chest when I saw what it was 2,7,4,3. Or A, R, I, D. My initials. Not that it mattered to M in anyway, no one knows my full name, I dismissed it like the rest of me, I never saw the importance of middle names. No one ever asked you for it, never on a paper you had to sign did they ever ask for your middle name, Just your first and last, everything else was irrelevant. My heart fell because he remembered the little details of me, when I didn't remember any of his. i pushed them so far to the back of my skull that they just weren't there anymore, I tried to prevent myself from hurting even more but really I just ended up losing him even more than I wanted to.

But this was no place for revelations, or feelings or any of that shit, M and I had only one mission and that was to set up the micro cameras in this overly protected building. I mean like it wasn't like they kept the money in here, so why did they have so many security precautions. I made a mental note to look deeper into what exactly they did here. But my number one priority was to get through these idiotic beams.

Now this expecially wasn't like the movies at all. You cant simply put a mirror in the way of the beam and walk through, because you're breaking the beam. Like seriously what nimrod even thought that was realistic!? The whole point is to not break the beams of light and then some second rate spy or whatever walks in with a compact mirror. Obviously the alarms would still go off! Second problem is that it's not as simple as gliding through like a prancing ballerina. The beams are close together and narrow in between the openings, and there wasn't some big ass obvious switch that turns off the beams in a dramatic turn of events.

I looked around at the room and tried to think clearly. We couldn't break the beams and we only had about a 30% chance of making it through the lights without setting one off. This was just great! The beginning of the stupid thing and we were already stuck. Come on, A, think! I looked up at the ceiling, even if we did have those suction cup things you see on T.V (which by the way is totally unrealistic too) the beams shot at the ceiling in a crisscross pattern.

Our only other option is the floor. They had to leave that completely bump free! I mean imagine walking inhere and tripping over an unmarked hazard, this company would be bankrupt in a week. I laid on my stomach and peered under the beams. We had a good foot and a half of shimming room, plenty of space to shimmy to the stairs.

"Come on." I pulled M's calf, she was staring at the beams the same way I probably was. At least I wasn't the only one who thought the beams were a gigantic pain in the ass.

I pointed to the floor and M understood. She quickly dropped to the floor and we started to shimmy across the floor, which was surprisingly clean. I mean I understand this was a multimillionaire building but you could eat off these floors, the custodians must be paid well if they did this well of a job.

We finally made it past the beams and ended up at the receptionist desk, where that snotty slut of a secretary worked. I gave M the one second sign and got behind the desk. I know this is totally low, considering that she just did this job to get some money for some food and to pay bills, but if you're going to do a job you should at least do it right.

I booted up her computer and a screen with a password came up. If I couldn't get past this security in the next minute I would be risking us too much. I stared at the screen. The girl looked like a complete idiot so she should have it written down somewhere. I started pulling out drawers quickly but quietly but nothing showed up. I was about to give up but then my eye caught a flash of yellow from underneath the keyboard. A sticky note. Her password was mypassword wanted to smack myself in the face so hard, people this stupid shouldn't be allowed to hold this much of an important job.
