"No, Ashton you can't leave. You're basically the only thing keeping me from not living on the streets, the money I earn is for food. The money you tip me is for rent. Please, I'm begging you now. I can't let you quit this job!" Michael had tears prickling in the back of his eyes and on his water line which only made Ashton feel even more guilty about this confidential decision that Michael head him talking to Calum about.
"Michael, I-I'm sorry. I have to quit this job, I've been offered a manger's job somewhere else with a much better pay. Over 25 an hour, it's mental. Please just be happy for me, Mikey." Ashton said which only made Michael get more upset about this whole situation, he was almost a hundred percent sure he was going to be homeless by the end of the year, or maybe even next month.
"I am happy for you A-Ash. Look, I'm s-sorry. I'll see you soon or something," Michael mumbled the last bit so it wasn't audible, however it was to Ashton as he kissed Michael's cheek and walked out of his Starbucks he used to work at. The blue haired boy sighed as he started to work the cash register until they had actually opened.
Calum grunted something about not being bothered to come to work today and he opened the doors to the coffee shop. Michael watched him in awe as he ran a couple fingers through his hair. He caught Michael's glance and made his way over. "What's tickling your apple?"
"The real phrase is, what's tickling your peach?" Michael corrected. Usually he'd say that with a smirk on his phase, or laughing about Calum's stupidity but today he just said it with a bored look on his face, like he really didn't care. However in reality he was just sad.
"Whatever. Well if this makes it any better, what's bothering you?" he asked with his eyebrows furrowed. Michael was still talking to Calum behind the counter as he took multiple customers orders at the same time, some giving him dirty looks about his lack of interaction. It was Monday and 6AM, he's not going to be the happiest thing going and it makes it worse finding out that you're going to be homeless by the end of the month. He predicted, anyway.
"You know how Ashton always used to give me and extra hundred or so a month out of the company's money?" Calum nodded, and Michael quickly filled up a coffee cup before he carried on with the sentence he started. "Yeah, well he's not working here as manager anymore. As nothing, actually. He's working for a completely different company meaning I have no money for food. The money I earn here is for rent, I used Ashton's money for hot water, heating and all that shit."
"That blows dude, if you ever need to go out for dinner or borrow some money I know you're never gonna give back, come to me because that's what best friend's are for." Calum said, then paused. "I should get back to filling up drinks, speak later."
Michael just nodded as he put the previous money in the cash register. Since it was 6AM, Starbucks was filled with several business men and woman having a morning cup of coffee to wake them up. He sighed when he seen the next customer coming up to the register with his hood up so Michael couldn't make out his feature's amazingly. All he could say was that recognised him from somewhere..but he couldn't see his face very well so he just blown it off as someone he thought it was. "Can I have a regular esperesso please?"
Michael nodded and put on his best fake smile, taking his time because there was no one in the que behind him. He sighed as he signalled Calum to make the ordered coffee, and asked the man for the price of the coffee which was £1.95. The man gave him the money and Michael opened the cash register and put it in.
"Rough day?" He asked in an amused tone. Michael just shrugged and nodded, giving Luke his coffee that was made by Calum.
"Well, take this. It might cheer you up a bit." Luke said and passed a couple notes to Michael. The blue haired boy just thought it was a five, ten, or even a twenty. "Have a good day, Michael." He said, obviously looking at his name tag.
"You too..."
"Luke,"
"You, too, Luke." Michael said as Luke walked away, his eyes widened seeing Luke getting a black Ferrari after he left the shop.
He looked down at his hand, only to see £500.
