"Hey, Vik, I'll race you to that tree over there!" Lachlan called to the latter, sprinting over to a tree just down the way from his home. Vik stumbled out of his place, trailing not too far behind the Aussie. Well, it's just a game. It doesn't matter, Vik thought. He always lost at these kinds of games, whether he was versing Lachlan or Rob, or even Simon or JJ. He just sucked at running, hence the reason he never did varsity track in high school, as his friends had done. He stuck with Tech Club and String Ensemble as his pastimes when he wasn't in school or dealing with anything schoolwork related. He moved his stubby legs as fast and as far as they could take them, the tree coming closer into eyesight. As he reached the finishing spot, a cheeky Lachlan smirked, his elbow rested on the trunk. Vik came to a pause in his quick motions and paused, walking over instead of wasting his energy running; he was already tired enough. It went silent, the only sounds heard being the Brit's panting and the sound of the river beside them roaring.

"I win," the Aussie's smile grew, becoming more devious.

"So? What do you want? I didn't realize we were playing for rewards-" Vik was silenced by Lachlan's finger reaching his mouth.

"Shhh," he hushed, rubbing his fingers along Vik's lips. He walked closer, in deep thought. The Brit became flustered at this action; the two were inches apart, and Vik could feel the other's breathing on him.

"I know what I want to-" Lachlan looked up at the sky and put his hands out. The sky was coated with a dark grey sadness, and specks of rain were falling into their palms.

"You feel that?" Vik nodded, as he was talking about the rain. Luckily, Lachlan wasn't going crazy. It was raining. Well, it was starting to.

"Know what? I'll tell you in the morning. See you later, pal." Lachlan gave Vik a friendly parting hug and sprinted over to his house, Vik jogging slowly behind as the rain began to pour down, soaking his body.

Once he reached his home, his blue t-shirt drenched and his shoes covered in mud, he changed into a cozy red sweatshirt and his pajama pants, plopping down on the couch. He scrolled lazily through his phone, responding to as many people as he could on Twitter as the storm began worsening outside. It raged as though it was an angry bull. Gosh, Vik was glad to not be out there right now. Through the back window, Vik could see flashes of lighting, and in between thunder roars, he heard....crying? Was he hearing things right? He walked cautiously over to his door, unprepared for what he'd see, well hear, outside.

"V-Vik! Help me! Please Vik, where are you?!" Vik panicked as he looked around the area, looking left and right and not seeing a single person in sight. All he saw were heavy raindrops, wind, and a whole lot of trees.

"Vik! Over here!" The voice cried out. The Brit stepped out and looked around frantically, his limbs trembling. Finally, about half a mile away, he saw go the crying was coming from-- Lachlan was on the ground, leaned forward and clenching his leg in pain, leaning a hand on a tree to keep from toppling over. His instincts kicked in, and he ran over to the injured man, almost on the verge of tears. How had he not seen his best friend hurt and out in this pouring storm?

"Oh, Vik, I'm so glad you're here. Can you just take me back to my home and-" Vik cut him off. He wasn't going to leave Lachlan alone tonight, especially since he'd gotten hurt, and was most likely freezing by this point, being in only a sweatshirt and a pair of gym shorts.

"Lachlan! Are you okay?!" He kneeled down to the latter, clenching his hand. "What happened?!"

"I-I was running back, and I tripped over a branch, which I think sprained my ankle, and it really hurts, and now I can't get up, and my house is so far away, and-" Vik put a finger to Lachlan's mouth, trying to be sarcastic, and picked up the injured Aussie, trudging him back to his place in the pouring rain. Lachlan wrapped his arms around Vik, leaning closer and shivering.

"I-I'm so c-c-c-cold." The Australian's teeth chattered as they reached Vik's house. His entire body shook, and he needed to be warmed up. The Brit set him down on the couch, his arms feeling a rush of relief.

"I'll be right back, Lach. I'll get you a blanket, and a first aid kit so I can help bandage your wound, and some clothes-" Vik was frantic, looking around for the needed supplies.

"B-But you're so much smaller than me, Vik. It's fine. As long as I have a bunch of blankets, I'll be good." He shot the other a smile, and began to take off his clothes, feeling slightly embarrassed to be in nothing but his boxers.

Vik rushed around the house, grabbing several blankets and a first aid kit from his bathroom, as well as a cup of tea, milk and 3 Splenda, just as his friend likes it. He walked back over to Lachlan almost like a maid, laying the blankets over Lachlan and tucking him into them. Next, he handed him the tea.

"Here's some tea also, to warm you up. It's your favorite," their smiles were almost as warm as the tea itself.

"Aw, Vik, you didn't have to-"

"But I wanted to, Lachlan. I care about you." He sat down in front of the Aussie and began to bandage up the wound, clearing it of mud and rocks first of course.

Once it had been cleaned and wrapped properly, he grabbed a few pillows and propped Lachlan's leg on it.

"Keep it up there. It will help." He sat down next to his best friend, feeling content with the job he did helping the latter.

"By the way, Vikky, thank you so much for doing this for me. I love you," he looked up at the ceiling, as though to find something to say up there, "as a friend." His cheeks blushed a crimson color as he gave Vik a hug.

"No problem mate, anything for my best pal." He turned on the television and looked over at his best friend a minute later, fast asleep with his head on his shoulder.

Oh, it's fine, just let him stay there, Vik. No need to wake him, and plus, he looks adorable. Vik thought to himself and smiled, leaning his head back and falling into slumber.
