"Now close your eyes and relax..." Pitch murmured softly, holding up his hands and directed black sand into her body. Just then, Jack burst in, he took one look at Elsa and he backed away, "What have you done to her?" Elsa's skin had taken on a grayish tinge, her eyes now glowed yellow and dress had turned such a dark blue that it seemed almost black. "Welcome to the party, Jack Frost," Pitch laughed, raising his hand. At that, Elsa raised her hand too and ice blasted out of her fingers, straight at Jack. Jack quickly moved to one side, but the ice still grazed his neck, leaving behind a red line. Pitch kept up a torrent of attacks. Ice daggers, ice spikes, ice arrows, etc. Jack an ice dagger from the air at one point and created a shield to protect himself while fending off the rest of the attacks with the dagger. "Jack, you might as well stop now, I can keep this up for a long time but can you?" Pitch commented as Jack started to breathe heavily. He continued, enjoying at the sight of Jack's effort, "The rest of the guardians aren't coming, they're too busy with my night mares outside."

The only way to stop Pitch was to get Elsa beyond his control. "Elsa! Elsa, can you hear me? You need to stop, we can still save your sister... please, trust me, please..." Jack cried at an attempt to wake Elsa up. The yellow light in Elsa's eyes flickered and a little of the original blue of her eyes showed through. A little colour returned to her skin and the shade of dark blue on her dress turned lighter. Her movements became jerky, as if she was somehow fighting against it. It was obvious Pitch was losing control and his expression darkened, seeming to use more effort to control Elsa. The jerky movements subsided. "Elsa, trust me, we can still save Anna, you just have to fight it...Elsa, I wanted to tell you...I...love you," Jack said, his expression tormented. Elsa's hands dropped toher side and she turned back to normal. Without warning, Elsa collapsed to the ground. In an instant, Jack was there, catching Elsa before she hit the ground. Jack kneeled there, with Elsa in his arms. A single tear fell from Jack's eyes and hit Elsa's cheeks, "I'm sorry...for everything..."
