My sneakers slapped against the concrete
Slapped slapped slapped
For miles slap slap slap
For decades slap slap slap
Ratty sneakers
Whizzing checkers
Breathing deeper
Screaming
Dreaming
Steaming
Freeing
Fleeing
Keeping
Leaping
Steeping
deeper
It's always deeper
They never show but it's always deeper
It's never just cause
It's never just ok
Just good
Just hello
They never tell you really
They never tell you, really
Jumping from rock to rock to
Slapping them on the way
With the back of my ratty sneakers
Away away away
I could go on till I die
I'd be better anyway
I'll slap and slap and slap the people and things away
With my ratty old sneakers
My good old trustee sneakers
I dream and dream and flee
And I always wish that instead of decades ,
it went on for centuries
