I wake up to the annoying sound of the alarm clock. What time is it? I look at the clock 8:55am. Crud, school starts in five minutes.
I rush to the bathroom and look at the zombie in the mirror which was me. I'm so glad I had a shower last night I didn't have time for one now.
I grab the hairbrush and brush my hair as fast as I could and put my fuzz ball of hair into a messy bun. I apply foundation and mascara and run into my wardrobe. I grab a pair of skinny jeans and a white short sleeved button down with my fluorescent green scarf and chucks.
I run for my phone, keys and bag. I slide down the rail of the staircase and run out the door in record time. Crud! My car was in the garage. No point pulling it out now. I'm already late. Just she finished thinking that Sam showed up in her Mini Cooper. "Need a ride honey babe." I smile at her. "How'd you know I was late?" A smile also appeared on her face. "I texted and asked if you wanted a lift and when no answer came I knew you were asleep. So I waited around the corner for you to show up." I look at my best friend with a grin. "You know me too well!"
We giggle all the way to school while talking about memories we had together. "Remember the time when I got my skirt stuck in the truck door at the farm in grade three for excursion and you thought it was a game so you slammed yours in the door too." My cheeks go red and warm. "You had to bring that up! I am to this day trying to erase that memory from my mind." A smile appears on my face.
I think about Cameron almost instantly. I wonder if I will have some really good memories with him. What am I thinking? He's the annoying next door neighbour for crying out loud! I won't have any memories except maybe last night. I will find out what is up with that boy.
