Melody's POV:

It's November 1st. Adoption Day at Sunshine Adoption Center. Finally.

The Sunshine Adoption Center is a place in L.A. where kids go for, well, adoption. The "caretaker" there, Ms. DuBois, doesn't really like children and treats us all like crap. I was the first kid there when it opened 9 years ago when I was 6. I got put here because my dad was abusive, but coming here wasn't much better. Ms. DuBois put me to work as soon as CPS left the building and she sleeps all day. She tells us every year on November 1st how she wishes we would get adopted and leave so she can close her Adoption Center. This year, is the year I hope that we get adopted.

As I get out of bed I go to my dresser to pick put my outfit. I decide on a dress with a white lace top and and a Mint Green bottom with Mint Green lace shoes. I put my hair up in a high pony tail with a white lace bow. (I like Mint Green and lace if you can't tell.)

I went downstairs and saw Ms. DuBois in a nice looking blouse and some bootcut jeans. She actually looked pretty nice.

"Good Morning Ms. DuBois. Would you like help tidying up?"

"Oh, no thank you sweetheart. I'm almost done. But thank you. Oh! Melody! You look gorgeous today. Do you think this year might be the year where everyone gets adopted?"

"Thank you and you look pretty nice yourself. It'd be nice if we all got adopted. Have fun. If you need help let me know."

"Alright Sweetheart. Thank you. Have fun."

It was weird, her being nice. She must be really hopeful this year.

By the time the Center opens for adults and people over the age of the 18, the house is spotless and all the children are actually happy and in nice clothes. It took about a half an hour for the first adult come and adopt a kid. They chose Macie. She was 3 years old and had short, blonde hair that was always in perfect ringlets. Then, in about 3 hours or so, all the children were gone, except for me. After waiting another half hour for someone else to come and adopt me we gave up and starting cleaning everything else. After about 15 minutes of cleaning this boy who looks no older than 19 is running up to us with a little girl in his hands. She was so cute. She had blonde hair and brown eyes like mine.

He probably became a father too soon and wants to put her up for adoption, I thought to my self.

"Hi. Is it too late to adopt? My little sister has always wanted another girl in the family other than our mom." he says while pointing to the little girl. Oh! Little sister. Never mind then. The older boy looks really familiar though. Maybe I saw him in the store or something. I'm not sure. I'm too excited to actually think and process things.

The next thing I know the little girl is walking up to me and I crouch down to her level.

"Hi. My name is Skylynn. Do you wannna be in my family? You can live with Nash. He said so." She tells me. That's where I know him from. That is Nash fricken Grier! Omg! I'm going to Nash's kid! Ahh!

Nash starts walking over to me and asks where my room is? I tell him and he goes up and collects my clothes, my laptop, and my hair stuff.

"Come on Melody, we're going home."
