"Dakota should be arriving on campus in a few hours, so we can go hang out somewhere on campus and then go get her from the Smith Center. Sound good to you," Elyse asked me, already knowing I would agree.
I wanted to see Dakota just as badly as she did. We didn't talk as much as Elyse and I had during the school year, so I had both a bear hug and a rant about the importance about communication waiting for her when I saw her.
I'd probably only go through with the first one though.
After leaving my dorm, Elyse and I had walked up the very large hill that led to the main section of campus and we were now In George Washington.
I fell limp on the couch and stretched out before sending Elyse a thumbs up. A few seconds later I heard a softer flop hit the couch near me, and I looked around, seeing her a few seats away.
I twisted my lips in a sneer, "Moveee, go sit somewhere else!"
Elyse, being the rebel she is, came and sat even closer to me, but I expected that. I sat up and kicked my legs onto the nearby table. I elbowed her in her side and quickly looked elsewhere.
She hit me in the shoulder, "Ass!"
"That wasn't even me!" I lied, groaning as if she had actually inflicted pain.
Elyse just smacked her lips and got up, going to sit across from me. I smiled at her, and pulled my phone out, texting my mom and letting her know how things were going.
I looked at the time and got excited. We had time to have our first lunch on campus! I kicked Elyse's shoe, "C'mon, lets go to lunch." She kicked mine back, "I'm tired," she said with a whine,"Can we just hang out here for a little bit longer?"
I shrugged my shoulder and pulled my phone back out. I wanted to talk to Elyse, but I had no idea where to start. I already knew how she'd been, and she was currently texting her new boyfriend, Tyler. I was actually at a loss for words for once.
Thankfully, two more students walked in, bringing a cloud of energy in with them. One of the two was Johnny, from Boston. I rolled my eyes and anticipated a show. Johnny wasn't a bad person, we all actually loved him; he was just childishly entertaining, so having him around was often a good thing. I gave him a once-over and noticed that he had gotten taller. Johnny was a third year now, so it helped that he was no longer 5'5, he actually looked his age.
"Hey guys," he said walking towards us. His voice had slightly deepened too. Maybe he had grown up during the year!
I gave him a fist bump and watched as he approached Elyse. I watched the two of them have a silent stand-off, Elyse's green eyes blazing, before Johhny flicked her nose, "Hey Raphael's girl."
I raised an eye brow, and watched Elyse for her reaction. She stiffened slightly, "Hey Johhny, and Um, We're not together anymore."
He just laughed to himself as if he didn't believe her. Him and his friend waved goodbye to us, and Elyse and I just laughed to ourselves as they exited. I checked my phone again and gasped. I stood up before grabbing Elyse and her bag and tossing her over my shoulder.
"What are you doing!? Put me down," she demanded. I just shook my head and laughed heartily,"We're going to lunch because it's almost over. I love you, but I love food more!"
Elyse just smacked my shoulder again, "Okay, okay put me down!"
I swear at this rate I was going to have bruises. Once we got to the top of the stairs, I set her down and began walking out of the doors of George Washington. I knew Elyse would be hungry too, she had to have missed breakfast because she got on campus at about 10.
