Chapter 26: Indra's Judgement

The dust clearing over the cliff face did not reveal a defeated boy. It revealed a god waking up.

A skeletal hand gripped the edge of the crater. The stone crumbled under its grasp.

Slowly, the figure pulled itself from the bedrock. Sasuke hovered in the center of a monstrous, translucent avatar. The susanoo crackled with the blinding blue light of Takemikazuchi.

Naruto stood on the water, his chest heaving slightly. The hole in his shoulder had sealed over, but the high-frequency molecular damage from the Ame-no-Ohabari had taxed his Reverse Cursed Technique.

"You are resilient, Asura," the dual-voice of Sasuke and Indra boomed from the armored titan. "But humanity has limits. Divinity does not."

"Divinity?" Naruto wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead, his Six Eyes narrowing. "You're hiding inside a glowing ribcage. Don't flatter yourself."

Naruto didn't wait for the Susanoo to fully materialize its weapons. He dropped his stance, channeling dense Cursed Energy into his calves, and launched himself upward. He appeared directly in front of the Susanoo’s core.

He pulled his right arm back, infusing his fist with maximum Cursed Energy, and drove a devastating punch aimed at the purple core.

The fist never connected.

Before his knuckles could touch the chakra armor, the blue veins of the Susanoo flared. A massive electromagnetic repulsion field erupted outward. The counter-shock hit Naruto like a physical wall of solid steel. The sheer voltage paralyzed his right arm instantly, and the magnetic force blasted him backward out of the sky.

Naruto twisted mid-air, forcing his numb arm to move, and landed heavily on the surface of the river, his boots skidding backward and kicking up twin geysers of water.

"Close-quarters is out," Naruto deduced, his mind racing. "The magnetic pressure vaporizes physical impact, and the electric counter-shock disrupts the nervous system."

"You cannot touch me," Indra decreed.

The Susanoo raised its massive left arm. A bow constructed entirely of black Hinokagutsuchi flames materialized in its grip. Sasuke’s left eye bled, a thick trail of crimson running down his cheek. He drew back the bowstring with the Susanoo’s right hand.

As the string pulled back, the spiral in Sasuke's right eye spun furiously. The right arm of the Susanoo transformed into a hollow, cylindrical barrel of crackling blue-white lightning. A single, dense arrow of black fire rested inside the electromagnetic chamber.
