The goodbye trickles down our cheeks like tears,

Your gaze asking me why am I so sad,

No don't come any closer

Please don't make that face,

Just blithely walk away,

The countless words of love that were whispered to me,

They all disappear like dust,

The countless memories overwhelm me,

Your face is ubiquitous in thought,

It seems to never end,

He loves me,

He loves me not,

I pick the petals off the flowers as I endlessly cry,

The plethora of flower petals drench my feet,

Each petal that has fallen seems like us making my heart ache,

You pull me down to you like gravity,

A temptation to hold you,

I try to expunge you from my memories,

It never works,

'Cuz this asinine love is like a tattoo,

A hopeful love that was never victorious,

But as time passes by this "us" is no longer,

But as time passes by I get stronger,

Your gaze asking me why am I so sad no longer lingers,

As for this love, it still remains.
