The trio dreaded how fast time went by when spending time with the others. Surprisingly enough, they didn't push the topic and seemed more open to the idea. Johnny and Ten came by eventually. Two were filled in quickly.

"Really? We don't even know what we are yet. I wouldn't want to hurt you." Taeyong says to Jaehyun. They were sitting outside on the porch. Jaehyun takes Taeyong's hand.

"Tae, I would have offered either way. It hurts to sleep knowing what you deal with. I-I- um." He started to blush. Taeyong finds him cute in this state.

He smiles and says, "I'll take you up on that offer. Thank you, Jae." Taeyong's cheeks betrayed him, too.

"Taeyong, I-"

"OH! There you guys are!" Jaehyun swore to handle him later for interrupting.

"We have to get going. The sun is already down." Yuta said. Haechan and Mark trailed behind him. One by one came the next person. Jaehyun couldn't help but huff. Taeyong squeezes his hand and stands, "We can text later."

Later.

How far was later exactly after stepping into this household? Their parents were expecting them. Since after school.

Taeyong's POV

I just know they're going to start. We've been out of school hours ago. Maybe I can lie and say we had a project.

As we walked in it was strangely quiet. As we got by the stairwell, the lights flickered on. Father. Wasn't he alone? Who is this other man? He locks eyes with me.

"Ah, finally, have a seat." I glance at Haechan and Jaemin. I led them back to the living room.

"Let's talk. You all were away all day." It was such an eerie feeling. He's never this sweet.

"Excuse me, where are my manners? My name is Woonai. I'm a good friend of your father's." He says to us. I slowly nod.

"So, how was school?" He asks us. Shit, please don't tell me he knows.

"It was fine. We stayed later to work on a project with classmates. It is science, so we went to the park." Jaemin answers. I was shocked by how fast he thought of that.

I watch my dad stare for a second before laughing with Woonai.

"Funny, well, I'm glad school was fine for you, Jaemin. What about you, Haechan?" Fuck.

"It-"

"Shut up. I asked your sissy ass brother." He barks.

"Fine, sir."

"Fine, really? I heard there was... an incident." There it goes.

No one speaks. I can feel Jaemin shift beside me.

"Something about a fight?" Woonai hums lightly, like he's recalling something small. "Crowd. Blood."

My stomach drops.

"It wasn't—" I start.

"I didn't ask you," my father cuts in smoothly.

"Jaemin."

My head snaps toward him.

"Stay. I want to speak with you. Alone."

"No."

The word leaves my mouth before I can stop it.

The room is still.

My father's eyes slowly move to me.
