This morning Justin rang you out of bed asking to meet up for lunch with Scooter and Thomas Jones (Big Pooh), you know who they are so you don't bother to ask further questions and answer in affirmative.
As you show up to the Sushi place Justin told you to meet up with them, you get to there a little late which feeds your insecurities. You join them at their table, it's weird to sit on a table with people who are geniuses at their profession. You hug Justin first then shake hands with Scooter and Thomas, introduce yourself. From there everything your doing is feeling useless in any way possible, silently sit on your chair and befriending the thought of turning invisible.
At one point Scooter gazes at you with a generous smile on his face, Justin also locks his focus on you as soon as Scooter starts:"So, Kailsey." You sit up especially tight in your seat, fearing his next sentence. "Justin send me lyrics to a song, he said you came up with them." Out of shock your eyes expand a bit, you can't believe Justin actually send Scotter your song.
"Yeah, well, it was actually just, like I wrote down what was up in my head, and," You stumble upon the words until Justin takes over.
"I brang her to the studio with me to show her the stuff for the album, we were listening to this one instrumental that has no lyrics yet and while we were listening to it she put her idea for a song on paper. She presented it to me and I wasn't dissapointed at her version of the song."
You're still unable to process what's going on right now, so you just sit and listen.
"I wasn't dissapointed either. Justin didn't tell me who wrote it, so I thought it was his work but he told me that you actually you wrote it and I was like: I don't care where or who she is, I need to meet this girl asap!" Scooter cozes shockingly honest.
Thomas, who was following the conversation without really saying anything like me, decided to engage in the conversation:"I also read it as Scoot sent it to me, incredible job, though. But do you wanna leave the song for Jus to record it or do you want to sing it with him, like what's your plan?"
"Oh god, I don't, well. I have zero experience with recording in the studio and all this, Justin can have it." You keep stuttering your way though your sayings.
"If it's only lack of experience, you should definetely do it, the last thing I want is to pressure you into anything but it's worth a try, isn't it." Scooter chats you up.
Scooter and Thomas share a gaze and give Justin a look, as if they were trying to get Justin to help them persuading me to do it. Which seems to work. "It would make sense if you'd sing it yourself, at least some of it because I know you wanted it to be a duet, so we would both sing it." Justin points out and it doesn't sound bad to anymore, not bad at all. But a part of you still doesn't like the thought that there's a possibility that your voice is going to be on an album that millions of people will buy and listen to. "Don't worry, being nervous about this is totally normal. I was almost shitting my pants when I was recording 'One Time' in the studio, the first time is always the hardest, trust me."
Overwhelmed you look seperatley at all of them for a few moments and respond with a confused, long drawn-out "Uhhh" . You start and attempt to temporize, "I needa use the restroom real quick, be right back." You annunciate as you get up from your chair. On your way to the restrooms you repeat the word "Fuck" over and over agin in your head but as soon as you get out of the cabine you start getting mad at yourself for being so anxious. Looking in the mirror at the sinks you take a deep breath and whisper at yourself "Ok, girl you needa chill, it'll be fine."
Headed back to the table, not even half way there Justin runs to meet you. "You're alright?" He asks, the hint of concern is weirdly heart-warming.
