Chapter One

The red Mercedes made a harsh stop in the parking way as I removed the key from the engine, causing the roar of the vehicle to die down to a silent stop. I took a deep breath, thinking of everything that had happened this summer. I knew I needed this, to come out of that snobby rich school, Belleza Academy for Girls, and start fresh. This would be the only place to start, with the lack of schools here in this small town.

I took a quick check in the mirror at my outfit. Tight, dark denim shorts, a white button up top, and white heels. My blonde hair was let down loose, and my face was make-up free.

I grabbed pink lipstick from my studded tote bag and applied it on my pale lips. After rubbing them together, I walked out of the car.

My heels carried me to the entrance of the school. I looked up. Brick walls that had red, fading colors in them. Graffiti was spray painted on the sides of the walls. A big, tall sign read, "Palm Grove High. Population: 1,435 students."

About to be 1,436.

I walked down the hallway, looking at the sides. People slouching by the lockers, couples by the wall making out, kids talking in groups, a nerd with glasses getting pushed around. This wasn't a place for me was it?

No matter that.

Suddenly, my body met with a buff, muscled one. I fell to the ground on my bum, groaning.

"Ugh, watch where you go you fool," I spat.

I looked up to see a boy with dark curls bouncing on his face. Tattoos were planted all around his arms, a perfect compliment for his large biceps. Even through his black sunglasses, those emerald green eyes were visible. A lip ring was pierced into his lower lip. It dangled slightly with every breath he took. His white tank top had a Rolling Stones sign on it, and had rips all around his back. His dark jeans were almost tight around him, with All Stars on his feet.

"Why don't you watch where you're going," he throws back at me.

"Well, maybe because I'm on the ground, thanks to you."

He grabbed my arm and pulled me upwards with such force, I could almost hear the crunch in my bones.

"Thanks," I hissed.

The boy shot me a look and walked away.

I scoffed and worked my way towards the front office.

A lady with bright red hair like fire was sitting there with her square glasses.

"Oh you must be Aubree Webber, the new girl, am I right," she answers, as if this school has been expecting me for years.

"Um, yeah, Mrs. Sharmack," I stated, reading her name tag.

"Well, here's a map of the school, and your schedule is on this page right here. Also take this paper and have all your teachers sign it. I think that's everything. Your teacher will probably send someone with you to go get your books."

I nodded and took the white paper in my hand. I looked down, passing my thumb through the print. Mr. Anderson for English. My first period.

I walked out the office, waving bye to Mrs. Sharmack.

As I made it out the door, a girl with beautiful brown hair and sparkly blue eyes came out.

"Hi, you must be Aubree, the new girl! I'm Lauren by the way," she stated.

"Hi Lauren," I greeted

She smiled. "What class do you have now? I have Mr. Anderson. He's a fun teacher."
