I let the cigarette fall to the ground as I squish it with the bottom of my converse shoe.
It was freezing outside in the garden, I mean, it was winter. 2 weeks before Harvey and Hayes' 2nd birthday.
I pulled my thin cardigan around me tighter as I walked back into the house.
"Eleanor?" Grant walked down the steps of our little house.
A month after I had Harvey and Hayes, Grant had told me that he has been planning on moving into a house with me and the kids. Me being so in love with Grant decided that it would be a great idea.
But I guess I got mixed into the wrong group of people.
"Have you been smoking again?" Grant asked as he stood in front with me with an unamused expression.
"No" I lied.
"El I can smell it off of you" Grant shook his head in disappointment.
"I'm sorry okay" I shrugged as I tried moving around him towards the stairs.
"Eleanor no, pass me the lighter" Grant put out his hand.
"No" I shook my head and moved back.
Grant took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.
"It's not a question" Grant growled.
"Fine here" I spat as I threw it on the floor and stormed out of the house.
I know I shouldn't be smoking, but I'm far to addicted. I know I should consider stopping, I've tried, but I keep slipping up.
I fished the box out of the back pocket of my jeans and grabbed a cig as my pink and purple hair flew around my eyes.
I walked over to a group of boys.
"Do any of you boys here have a lighter" I asked.
The boys stopped talking as one of them threw me a lighter.
I quickly lit my cig up befits returning the lighter and walking off.
Taking my lighter would do nothing.
