|Ariel's POV|

"Come on Ari!" Cassidy screams at me. "I'm going as fast as I can!!" I scream back, out of breath. We've been running for what seems like hours. "He's gonna get us!" She cries. That only makes me cry harder, looking behind me in fear. What if he catches us and kills us?

He's still chasing us, I hear him not far behind. How I've managed to run for this long, I dunno. My adrenaline is strong right now. I finally catch up with Cassidy. She only grabs my hand and drags me behind her, making my legs run faster. "Is he still coming??" She pants. "Yes!" I shout. She runs even faster. My side is starting to hurt really badly, I'm so out of shape. But that's the least of my problems right now-- my dad's trying to kill us!

All of a sudden, my hand slips out of Cassidy's, sending me tumbling to the ground. I try to get up to run again, then I'm shoved back down. Before I can scream, my mouth's covered. He got me. He got me. He got me. I'm dead. I cry, waiting for death. "Shh," I open my eyes a crack, and see it was Cassidy. I sigh heavily in relief, I'm still scared shitless though. "Where are you?!!" We hear dad yell evilly. She wimpers, gripping my mouth shut tighter. "You can run, but you can't hide!" He shouts. Oh god, he's not that far. I can hear the chainsaw buzzing and roaring. We're gonna die.

Then it goes quiet. The roaring of the chainsaw fades away, he left. "Lay low for a little while, make sure he's really gone," she told me. I nod my head, and finally she takes her hand from my mouth. I gasp for air. I couldn't breathe properly with her doing that. We both start to cry, she holds me close to her chest. "Ariel, we're gonna be okay, alright? As long as I'm here, you're gonna be fine," she mutters to me. I just shake my head and sob into her shirt. "Trust me," she cupped my face, looking at me. After a while, I nod my head. She exhales and pecks my forehead before holding me close again. "I love you sis," she whispers. "I love you too," I whisper back, holding her tighter.

We stayed low for another two hours, then we started to get up and walk the opposite way he did. "Cass?" I grab her arm. She doesn't say anything but she's listening. "What's wrong with dad? Is it the drugs that's doing this?" I ask her softly. She sighs and says "Probably. It's not only the drugs, Ari, he's psychotic. He just got out of an asylum." "I know, I know. But to think he's really trying to kill his own kids." "Yeah, I know." "I wish mom was here," I whimper. She chokes back a cry and says "I do too."

"Well, she's gone. So are you..."

BANG

Cassidy fell to the ground, blood pouring from her head. "Cassidy!!" I scream, kneeling beside her. "Cassidy say something!!!" She remains motionless. I put my head to her chest, no heartbeat, no breathing. I start to do CPR. "Come on Cass, come on," I cry. Nothing comes. I start to pound on her chest, crying and screaming. She's gone. Forever.

I hear that familiar cough, it was dad. "She's gone, baby," he cries, bending down to her. "What happened to her??!" He screams, looking at me. He looks innocent. He's not in that trance. "YOU FUCKING KILLED HER!! YOU BASTARD!" I scream and kick him over and over again in the gut. Until he was spitting blood. That's when he stopped moving. I stood there, looking at him. "Dad?" I say, no reply. I start to walk over to him. His eyes were wide open, blood pouring from his mouth. H-he's dead. I killed him.

I cry harder, looking at both of my relatives, dead. This is all my--

"AAAGHH!!" I scream as I'm being pulled to the ground. "Thought I was dead, huh? You're gonna have to try harder than that," my dad laughed. I'm so stupid to fall for that. Then he brings me up by the throat and slams me into a tree, choking me. I rip and tear at his hands, but it's no use. I'm simply too weak. He finally lets go, sending me to my knees, holding my throat, gasping for air. I see him kicking and rustling the leaves. He's looking for the gun, he's gonna kill me. Good.
