The Elements.

What a title of repeated lore. From myths of people in the ancient world who fought with the four main elements to modern-day stories of teenagers keeping their abilities a secret, mankind has always been fascinated by the four main elements: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth.

Even in human form, I always find these stories quite ridiculous. Humans cannot control the elements, unless certain things are compromised.

Because I am not a mortal who can control fire; I am fire. I am the flames of destruction. The tool that led human to their modern age. The ultimate weapon of havoc. The final element.

For thousands of years, I and my bretheren have helped and supported mankind. But age has taken its toll. Control slips out of our hands as our destructive counterparts fight us for control.

And that's why we had to pass on the curse.
