"prudence?"
"mhm?"
"are you alright? you hardly touched your food"
"i just have a lot of things on my mind"
*picks up a waffle and shoves it in mouth*
"want to talk about it?"
"actually, could a stay home monday & tuesday?"
"why? school is over next week. you'll have plenty of time to get lost for the summer"
"dad, nothing happens the last two weeks of school"
"my answer is no"
*sips coffee and reads paper*
"ugh"
*crosses arms and squints*
*thinks*
"i just wanted to spend time with mrs. paris. she quiet her job and she seems really messed up"
*puts paper down*
"really? i thought you said she was doing well"
"um, well, she didn't want anyone to know. dakota is gone and mr. paris is still in iraq. she needs someone there, you know?"
"mhm... you're right"
*sips coffee*
"okay, i'll call her and see if it's alright"
"no need. she told me i'm welcome whenever"
*nods head*
