Chapter 1-Where it All Began

Gracie's POV

I was sitting in class, bored, talking to my three best friends, Katie, Claire, and Hannah. On the other side of the room sat our friends, Patrick, Andy, Pete, and Joe. There was really nothing to do in that class anyways. All of a sudden, a huge rumble, almost like an earthquake happened. We all fell to the floor as the fire alarm sounded. Everyone was in total panic. I looked over at my friends, who were shaking with fear. All of a sudden I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I turned around to see Patrick and his friends. Patrick held out his hand and I grabbed it, letting him pull me up. The remaining guys helped my friends up and then we started darting to the door. "We have to get the hell out of here!" Pete yelled over the chaos. As soon as we hit outside, the doorway collapsed. We all ran to a nearby tree and sat under it. "What..the fuck..is happening?!" Andy asked, panting. "There's only one explanation." Joe said. We all stared at him like he was some kind of fucking expert. "Well Einstein what is the explanation, huh?" Patrick teased. "I'm being legit guys..we're at the start of the long awaited zombie apocolypse..."
