*Lily's P.O.V*
As I lock eyes with Mark, I'm basically gasping for air.
"Mark...how...did you...huh...?" I manage to push out between breaths.
"I would love explain right now Lily," He strains, the Hispanic in his voice showing, "but I'm kind of trying to hold a tree in place right now so can you do something useful."
I look at the palms of my hands and think about what to do. Obviously, this sign on my hand signifies that I'm not a normal person. The only question is how do I use this to my advantage.
I look down at my hands, then at the tree, towards Mark who looks like he is about to pass out, and then back at my hands again. I strengthen my foot position and prepare myself to do...something.
"Lily, please hurry!"
I take a deep breath and place my palms out. I close my eyes.
I'm not normal.
I slowly place my left palm over right. After that, I'm not really sure whats happening, all I hear is a loud boom. I went flying backwards, my eyes still closed. As I'm still in the air, I can hear something hit the ground before me. Maybe it's Mark.
I eventually hit the ground and rub my head as I slowly open my eyes. The overload of smoke in the air causes me to become teary-eyed as I gasp for breath.
I can barely see anything through the thick cloud off smoke. I hear soft coughing in the background.
"Mark," I shout, "where are you?"
There's no response.
"Mark?"
I slowly get up off the ground and brush myself off. The journey to find Mark begins now. The smoke has cleared a bit, but it's still fairly hard to see anything. I trudge through the ash-covered grass my body aching from the impact.
"Mark," I say in a sing-song voice, "come out, come out wherever you are."
If I don't find him soon I'm literally going to go back to my house and let him find his way out of the forest by himself. I keep walking around hoping that I will find him soon. At times like this I really wish that I had a flashlight.
"Come on, stop playing games," I cry.
I keep walking around in no-mans-land until I hear a loud cackle of thunder.
"Oh no," I mumble under my breath as I flip the hood of my hoodie over my head.
Considering that I felt the rumble of thunder throughout my whole body means that this is going to be one heck of storm. God, please let this horrible nightmare be over soon...or more preferably now.
"Ugh, Mark, you little Mexican burrito come out of the shadows now."
"Wow, racism," A voice says in the distance.
"Mark, is that you," I say raising an eyebrow.
"Who's Mark?," the voice questions, "is he your boyfriend?"
"Wait, w-what, no!" I studder.
"Hmm, hesitant about that are we?"
I scoff. I don't who this voice is, but they sound familiar.
"Enough questions," I shout demandingly, "who are you?"
"Ooo, someone's feisty," they chuckle, "but how do you not know who I am."
I swear this person is trying to mess with my head, but they do sound awfully familiar. By now I can tell that their a man since there voice is fairly deep and smooth.
"I'm sorry, but I don't."
"D'aw, that's a shame since your talking to-"
"Lily!" Mark's voice comes from the distance.
I see him running up closer to me, a slight smirk on his face.
"Mark," I say opening my arms for a hug.
"I found you!" He says pulling me into a hug and lifting me off the ground.
I giggle as he twirls me around in a circle.
"D'aw, how cute," the man says sarcastically, "I hate to break up this lovers reunion, but before I was so rudely interrupted I need to tell Lily that I'm-" he pauses causing suspension to fill my heart.
"Her brother."
Mark instantly stops spinning and drops me to the ground. I fall on my back and sit there staring into space in disbelief. Silence fills the area as both Mark and I sit there, our jaws touching the ground.
"B-brother," I studder breaking the silence, "I don't have a brother."
"Don't tell me you don't remember," he responds sounding slightly hurt.
"Six-year old boy supposedly kidnapped."
Memories slowly begin to enter my mind.
"You were only three years old when little James Wells in was taken away," he says softly, "now look at you."
James Wells?
Memories started flooding back to me now.
"You can see me?" I question looking around.
I still can't see anything through the thick layers if smoke.
"How can you not see me?"
I look around only seeing small flakes of dust and the now ash-covered trees.
"I see nothing."
Suddenly, I feel a light tap on my shoulder. I quickly whip my body around and see James' face. A tear begins to slowly crawl down my cheek as I can clearly see his face.
He quickly pulls me into a hug and grips me so tightly it's kind of hard to breathe. Mark stands off to the side smiling. He finally releases his grip of me and smiles.
"Now," he starts, "since we are reunited, would you like to introduce your little 'friend' to me now."
He puts air quotes around "friend" and winks as he stares at Mark. Mark begins to blush and stuffs his hands into his pockets."
"James," I say pushing him on his chest,"he's just my best friend."
"Ah, the old best friend card," he teases smirking."
"Yes, I had a 'best friend' once," he says, looking up at the tree-covered roof, "now this 'best friend' can't keep her hands off me."
He shrugs as he looks back at Mark and I. I roll my eyes as I put my hands in pockets of my hoodie. I know I just met him, but I feel like I've known him for ages. It feels good to know that I'm not an only child.
As well all stand there in silence, a cackle of thunder fills the air once more as rain droplets begin to fall from the sky. I feel bad for Mark and James considering they don't have a jacket with a hood, but luckily the thick forest trees should block out most of the rain.
I notice that James has a black leather jacket, but it only has a collar that covers most of his neck. At least he won't get completely wet like Mark who doesn't have a jacket whatsoever. Why do I even care?
"So," I say breaking the awkward silence, "why are you here?"
James looks back at me, his dark brown eyes piercing into mine. He looks slightly uncertain, but still intimidating.
It's kind of hard to tell since the rain is beggining to mix with the smoke which is creating some mist like haze.
"I come bearing some slightly unfortunate news."
"What?"
"Y-you failed the test to see if you are qualified enough to enter the the secret organization also known as Earthbound."

Helllooooo all you beautiful peoples of Wattpad!!! Are you enjoying the story. I bet you are! No, ok...Whatever it's your opinion. Anyways, I do have a few announcements to make regarding the stories.
So, for those of you who read my story The Lost and Forgotten which I expect is very few of you since it had like 19 reads.
As I was saying I deleted it because I felt like I was never going to get to since I was hitting a bit of a writers block. Also, I didn't really know what direction I was trying to take my story in.
However, I am coming out with a new story called The Other Side of the Rainbow so hopefully it will turn out better than my previous story.
And no it will not be about unicorns farting sparkles and rainbows, Nyan cat flying the air, and donuts and other kinds of sugary foods falling in the air. I wish the world was like that.
One more thing I would like to say is that I'm sorry that I have been really slow with updates, but I've been a bit busy and lazy so I'm going to try and update a bit more than I do now.
So, yeah, I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter and I will see you in the next one...have any of you realized that I say this like I'm ending off an episode of a YouTube video if I were a YouTuber. Whatever...anyways BUH BAIII!!!!!
