The ten ran up-stairs, eventually finding themselves in Gabu's room, which was one of the first in the hallway.
"Ah! Oh my god!" Aniah started to hyperventilate.
"It's gonna find us! It's gonna kill us!" Tracy shook even more.
"It looks like me!" Joshua screamed.
"Everyone shut up!" Hazel yelled. "We need to find a place to hide!"
There was a light knocking at the door. "Dearest guests, are you almost done in there?" Joshua's mimicked voice flowed through the door.
"SH-" Will was cut off by a hand being clamped over her mouth.
"Shut up...!" Haru hissed.
"C'mon, guys." Yushiro pointed to a bump in one of the floor's carpets. He lifted up the carpet and found a trapdoor. When opened, there was a latter.
Everyone climbed down and the last person, Joshua, managed to close the trapdoor and put the carpet back over it. They had climbed into complete darkness. Everyone fumbled around in the darkness for some kind of light switch, and eventually, someone pushed something.
A whole room lit up around them. There were six beds lined up against one wall. On the other side of the room, a small kitchen and bar stood. In the middle of the room, there was a small coffee table and couch.
"Woah!" Everyone had their breath taken away. Sure, it was dusty, but overall, it was in great shape.
"Yeah!" Gabu ran over to the opposite side of the room. There was a fairly large bathroom with a shower there.
"Aw man! Is this some kind of safe room?" Jessie asked.
"Maybe..." Aniah said quietly.
Suddenly, a banging could be heard above them. "COME OUT, COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE!" Joshua's voice screamed. The actual Joshua seemed shocked to hear his voice screaming so loudly. More crashes followed, probably the sound of furniture being toppled over. Then, it was silent.
"He doesn't know this room is here..." Yushiro whispered cautiously.
"It's safe! We're safe!" Hazel and Kaye chorused.
"Oh my god, we'll be okay!" Hazel smiled.
"I know! It's safe here!" Kaye replied.
"Guys, c'mon, don't be so loud..." Gabu held her hands out nervously.
"I j-just..." Aniah smiled. "It's so nice to be safe."
Then a harsh scream rang in their ears.
A terrible scene flashed in their eyes for no more than a few seconds.
"It's not safe here!" Someone screamed. It was difficult to recognize the voice, and their face was covered up. "Run!"
"Please, don't do this!" Aniah screamed at the unknown figure.
"Go."
The ten found themselves leaned against walls or on the floor, curled up, all their stomachs churning.
"What was that?!" Joshua started to stand.
"Everyone saw that, right?" Haru asked.
"I... I was there... I..." Aniah shivered. "W-w-what is happening?!"
"We're in hell, I'm sure of that. This wasn't the paradise we were promised." Will crossed her arms.
