"Oh honey! How am I going to go without you for so long?!" Mom cried grabbing my shoulders and pulling me forward to hug her.
"You'll be fine Ma, just take care of Rex for me. You know how he is, he'll be sad with you for the next few days but he'll grow out of it. So will you! I'm going to be back on Thanksgiving Week remember? That's in two months, not too long." I reminded her, and she sighed pulling away.
"I know honey, but it's going to be lonesome without you. Oh, I wish Mariah was here! She always missed big events!"
"She has a job and a kid Mom, she was bound to miss this one way or the other." I reminded her, and smiled.
"I suppose your right. Well, at least we managed to borrow her truck to bring everything over."
"Yeah." I answered feeling awkward. "Well, I guess you better go ma. I'll see you in two months." I kissed her forehead, and Mom started crying all over again, holding her handkerchief by her nose. She'd been crying the whole way here, I can only imagine her doing the same on the way back.
"Okay, your right! Go mingle okay? Make lots and lots of friends! Even bring some home with you on thanks giving!" Mom said, wanting to fill in that two story house Dad left us when he divorced Mom.
"I'll try Ma." With that, I helped her in the older black dodge, and she drove away waving.
I sighed, and walked back to my room and saw the best present yet. "Well hello!" I said grinning widely, and watched as the skinny, most beautiful girl I ever seen came into my sight. She was practically a goddess! A...hippie Goddess I guess you could say. She wore a long skirt that looked like a quilt that went down to her ankles, and some Jesus shoes to go with it. She had on a burnt white colored tank top, with a brown slick sweater. Her hair was down and a mess, but it suited her. She had a braid of her blond hair that went literally over her forehead, and disappeared back into her vast waves of hair. My God she was beautiful!
"Oh, hi. I'm looking for a male of the name of Nathan. Is that mammal here yet?" She was a freak! Oh, why are the pretty one's either weird or dumb? Her voice was very soft and high pitched, she had dark green eyes that just melted like a pond with a black whirlwind in them leading to her pupil. Her hair was knotted as if it had never been brushed, it was frizzy, but damn it she was hot as hell!
I cleared my throat, "I am that mammal." I had to desperately hold back my laugh as I said that, but before it could slip out, the young girl said, "You received a package from your father, with this letter. That is all." With that, she ran out before I could ask what her name was.
I sat down on the bed that was on the right side of the room, and opened the box. A letter was taped on top of what ever was in the bubble wrap, an I read it to myself.
Son, we don't talk much now and you have no idea how much that bothers me not to be able to have my best man around. I know you despise of me for not fighting for you in court, but I knew your mother needed you more than I would. I have Emily with me to keep me comfort, but she was left alone. I couldn't take another precious thing away from her, so I gave her the gift that would never leave her side. You. Now son, I don't want you to think I abandoned you, because I didn't! You can come to my house any time you want, you can even have your own pet her and everything. We have a whole room dedicated to when you stay over, but it has been yet to be used. I know you are angered with me for having your sister Bianca, but you have to understand son, I am in love with her. Emily is still going to be apart of my life whether you approve of it or not. The least you could do is meet your sister, she's been eager to have another sibling. Now son, I know you won't get back to me till weeks later when your mom actually makes you call me, so I'm going to just say this and be over with it. I love you no matter what, whether you hate me or love me back. To prove it, I want to give you this. My father did this for me when I had left home to go to school and become a true man. He said that this gift to me was to show that he cared even if he never said it. Well, I am going to do the same for you. Don't be reckless with it, don't tell your mother about it, and don't think everything is what it is.
