Beyond The Forest

CHAPTER 4

The night air was crisp with little comforting warmth in it. As I was following Axel into the woods I looked up to try and see the night sky but these woods were so thick that it was practically impossible to see your surroundings and the sky. I then looked forward and started thinking about Vince and Analie, what was even going on with them? I guess I gotten lost in my thoughts because I didn't even realize stopped until I ran into him. I almost fell backwards but I was caught before I could hit then ground. I looked up into Axels eyes and was lost into a trance. We were staring into each others eyes and it feels like years are going by. Axel slowly started to lean in and so did I. We were merely millimeters apart before reality sunk into the both of us. We stopped, he then pulled me up and started walking again. I only stood there in shock wondering why we were about to kiss. But I quickly got out of my thoughts when I realized Axel was almost out of my sight so I started to run to him in attempts to catch up. He then stopped again before I could even stop myself and almost fell again but he caught me, again. What's up with me running into him? 

He then put me back up and turned me around to where we arrived. I then got off of him and looked in awe at what was in front of me. Right there was a large open valley full of little flowers was what I guess to be scarlet buckeye since it was a native flower. There was also hundreds of fireflies flying around but that wasn't even the best part. The best part was the illuminated sky. I was a really dark purple almost black with hundreds and hundreds of stars, and there just happen to be a full moon just to make it better. 

I heard Axel walk up to me and then stopped right besides me."How do you like it Everly?" he asked looking at me like I was the most interesting thing on earth."It's so amazing and beautiful I cant believe this is an actual place that exist." I said still in so much awe at the place. I then sat down and started picking up the flowers and braiding it into a natural flower crown. Axel lied beside me and started looking up at the sky. Some of the fireflies started to come to me and flew around me. I put on my flower crown and a couple of them got on it. I was so amazed I didn't even realize that Axel stood up. I looked up at him and he offered me a hand so I grabbed it and pulled myself up and started walking back.

As we were walking I couldn't help put feel like we were being followed but I ignored it. I wasn't until another minute that we both heard a twig snap and a low growl. I began to freak out and pray when Axel pulled me."Get on my back so I can run." he said in a serious tone and I followed as he said. Once I got on his back he started running in full speed but was surprised me was that he was going supernaturally fast. But then again the wolf I realized was following us was chasing us.

We saw the house ahead and he speed up faster then I thought possible. We made it to the back porch and when he set me down I looked back at the woods just to see the wolf was gone. When I turned back around Axel embraced me in a full on hug snuggling his head into my neck and breathing deeply. I hugged back and rested my head on his chest. I don't think I was ever more scared for my life then what just happened.

We pulled apart and I looked up to him giving him a reassuring smile."So why did you show me that magical place?" I asked him trying to change the subject."Because you are special, so I wanted to show you a special place." I couldn't help but try to hide the blush. He then lightly pulled my chin up and smirked."Your a cutie." his smirk gotten deeper as I blushed more. He then kissed the top of my forehead then turned around to walk into the back door. I stood there for an extra minute before I turned around to see Mr.Ride right there. He startled me and I jumped back a little."Be careful next time."he said with no emotion and went inside the house. I checked the woods before I led myself inside my house.

As I entered the house, Analie and Vince just arrived with like four bags. I looked at Analie as she gave one bag to Axel which I guess was all his stuff for the night. She ran to me and grabbed my hand plus the three bags and we ran up to my room. She dropped all her stuff on the ground and sat on the mini bench swing. She looked at me with knowing eyes and a large grin."So what did you and my brother do while we were gone?"I blushed and she started laughing."Um we just walked in the forest and he took me to this really cool place." I shyly said."What did y'all do at the forest?"she said wiggling her perfectly done eyebrows up and down.

I stood there in shock and she laughed so hard she fell of the swing."We did nothing."I said still wide eye."Well Everly, you see if the girls find out that you and Axel are starting a thing they will be very jealous and not like you, but that doesn't matter because you have me, also if word gets out to his bitchy ex, she will be more then likely trying to make you feel like shit but just ignore her." I took that in and smiled. But for some reason I felt a small pang of jealousy hit me once I heard Axel has an ex. She then looked me in the eye and dragged me in the closet as we started picking out outfits for me for the first day tomorrow.
