The lunch bell rang. I suddenly felt excited to meet other people. I rushed out of the room but I was suddenly consumed by the thought that I don’t know where the cafeteria is, well, maybe Liz will come and we’ll both go to the cafeteria together. I finally thought I could call her Liz since she’s the first person who considered me as a friend since I moved here. “Lost are you?” I turned and saw Justin and two other people they must be the so-called big three. “Liz will be here in a while. It’s none of your concerns.” I said. “Oh, she talks.” Justin scoffed. “Apparently, she doesn’t sound like she’s from here.” He added, a smirk tugging his lips. He actually looked quite attract- wait, what were you going to say? “Why don’t you let us help you find your way?” I rolled my eyes at his eagerness. If he’s trying to get me to be just like one of those girls that he could twist around his finger then he has to think of another way, I don’t just give in to anything. “I think I can manage myself, thank you.” I said and turned on my heel to a hallway I don’t know.

This school looks like a maze. I eventually lost my way and I can’t find the cafeteria, well, maybe I could skip lunch and find my next class but I never actually skipped lunch, that could’ve been bloody murder. “You can stop mumbling to yourself and consider coming to lunch with me.” That voice I loathe is here again. The percent of my hatred for him is starting to rise. “I can find my own way and where are your ‘mates’?” I asked rolling my eyes after. “Alright, you want this the hard way don’t you? You know, you should feel grateful, I don’t just talk to anyone.” He said. I narrowed my eyes at him. “I’m sorry if you feel that way, I will not bow down to you, not now, not ever!” I snapped. He was slightly taken back by my words, I felt kind of proud seeing his reaction but then a smirk appeared on his face which almost scared me. He took me by the wrist and dragged me to the opposing hallway. “Bloody hell! Let go of me, this is absurd!” I said getting away from his grip. “Bloody hell?” he mocked followed by a chuckle. He pushed the swinging doors open and as we entered, silence consumed the room. Oh, this is just great. I jerked his hand away. “Never do that again!” I spat and walked away, I don’t care if people think it’s wrong of me to talk back like that. I found Liz sitting with the look of confusion in her face. “They weren’t joking.” She mumbled. “Ariana, Taylor, this is Katy.” Liz introduced. “Hi.” I simply said. “Wow, so you’re the one everyone has been talking about?” Ariana said in awe. “People have been talking about me?” I questioned. They all shared glances before their eyes come back to me. “Well, Emily hates you.” Taylor said in a low whisper.

“That’s fantastic, a Barbie doll hates me, how sweet.” I murmured. “She’s just jealous because you got Justin’s attention.” Liz commented. “I didn’t ask for it! I have this massive feeling of hatred at everything that includes him.” I said. “Massive, you really are from England.” Ariana teased. “Maybe you caught Justin by your accent.” Taylor chirped. “Whatever, he probably hates me as much as I do to him. I don’t care, not even a tad bit.” I said. “If you hate him, how will you come to the party?” Ariana asked. “What party are you talking about?” I asked. Just then, Justin stood in front of the cafeteria. “Everyone is invited and but tonight there will be a catch.” He said and gave me a smirk before going on. “There will be no party if Katy doesn’t show up.” He said and I could’ve thrown my mash potato at him, but I love mash potatoes, I can’t just throw it to anyone but in this case, he’s totally getting mashed by my potatoes.

“I’m not going.” I said for absolutely the 100th time today. People won’t leave me alone. They kept asking me, some begged, some cried and some even tried to bribe me but there’s no way I’m going. People would probably hate me for it but I’m not defying my stand. “Please come?” Liz begged. “You really want to go the party?” I asked. They nodded simultaneously, their eyes twinkled with hope. Geez, I thought they were different, I thought they weren’t head over heels over ‘the big three’, oh well, I guess that’s just me. “Alright, I’ll join in but if something bad happens to me, I will kick you in the bum.” I said and closed the locker shut. “She said she’s going!” Someone in the room yelled. People were eavesdropping at our conversation? Justin does bloody well on getting under my skin, but I will never ever find him ‘appealing’. I will never fall heads over heels for someone who’s so full of himself. He just reminds me of Terence, maybe that’s one of those many reasons why I don’t find him appealing. He’s like a replica of that stupid being. I’m glad he’s far away from me. England is very far from here. I groaned in frustration, I hope I could just go home soon and maybe I could get into an accident and I won’t be able to attend the bum party. I looked at my new found friends, they seem like they’ve forgotten I was here. It makes me miss England but then I remember Terence, I loved the way I’m far away from him but it feels bad to be away from my mates, my best friends. They’ve been there for me all seventeen years of my life, how could I have taken that for granted? Sure, Terence was a nightmare but they were the brighter side of my life. Now I feel homesick for England, well, at least I get to spend the rest of my high school with my dad. I haven’t seen him in almost thirteen years. “Are you okay, Katy?” I snapped out of my thoughts and turned to three girls who just seemed to notice my outside atmosphere. “Y-yeah, I got to get to my next class.” I mumbled as I walked pass them.

I’m proud of myself for not getting lost for the very first time this day. There’s only one seat available and it’s next to a lad but as long as it’s not the big three I’m fine by the fact that I’m sitting next to a guy. He was quiet, I didn’t mind, I enjoyed the silence. The teacher started to talk about history of past presidents. I’ve read about them online before for a school project back in England. We had to do a research of worldwide leaders and I chose America since I thought it was pretty easy. Mrs. Jones, the history teacher, probably read the same website I used since she was talking about everything I saw on there.

Why did Justin even plan to ruin my social life or my life in general? Out of all the Barbie dolls in this school that would've given anything for his attention, why did he have the motive to just waltz into my personal space? I never wanted anything that includes him. If he’s really actually trying to turn me into one of his ‘followers’ who worship him, well, he’s doing a bad job at it. It only fuels my hate fire. “Now, five minute spare time for your other concerns.” I was already using the whole period as a ‘free time’ so I guess case closed, then. “Are you wondering why he’s not leaving you alone?” The lad beside me suddenly said. I was taken back for a moment; he can’t read minds, can he? “He must’ve had an interest in you since you didn’t give him the attention he wanted.” He continued. “Well, in that case, her will never get what he wants. His actions are horrid. Did you see his little 'act' in the cafeteria a while ago? That was so uncalled for!” I said. “Maybe if you ‘pretend’ you like him he’ll stop. If he was only craving for the attention he wanted, that is.” He said. “If I pretend then he would feel like he won, I’m not up for that. I want him to see a challenge which, I believe, never happened since everyone was afraid of him.” I said proudly. “That’s new, most girls I’ve met either don’t talk to me or just talk about the different shades of lipstick or plans on how to get the big three's attention. It hurts especially when you’re a boy.” He said and chuckled. “Well, in that case, I don’t exactly like talking about different shades of lipstick or ignore people and most importantly, I will never talk about those three idiots. Hi, I’m Katy, Katy Thompson.” I said and held out my hand to him. “I’m Jason, Jason McCan.” He said and happily shook my hand. I guess I could survive this school after all.

A.N.: Just to clear things out, Justin is not a fool for attention in real life, he's humble and caring and sweet and he has perfect flaws, okay? And as the story goes on, you would know why he's acting like that. This chapter is dedicated to osnapitzallie because she gave me some ideas.
