"You bastard! Let me out!" She yells from the basement. Why am I stuck hearing her? This wasn't even my idea. Chris made me do it.
I get up and walk down to the basement. Her arms are chained to the wall making sure she can't leave. She was super skinny, probably because I was told not to give her any blood. All it does is give her strength. She yanked on her chains trying to get out of them to get to me, "Let me out of here Max. I'm starving."
"You know if it was up to me I'd let you out, but it's not. So hang tight." I say and go to a small cup of blood on the other side of the room. I lay it just out of her reach and walked to the door watching her struggle to get it.
It's natural for me to be an ass to her. Not sure why, but it's like my second nature.
As I walk up Chris walks down. "What are you doing down here? Didn't I tell you not to mess with her? She's a tricky bitch who won't hesitate to kill you if you give her the chance."
I reply with, "Yes sir, you did. I'm sorry. It won't happen again. I just couldn't deal with her yelling."
"It's okay, just don't do it again alright?" I nod and run up. I put on my leather jacket and walk out to have dinner with my family. It's the first time they have wanted to be with me since they learned what I was. It was more than likely a stupid decision to tell them but it's too late now.
I waited there for hours before I finally left. They never showed up. I'd like to say it was a surprise but it really wasn't. I don't see them ever getting used to it. Everything is fine though because now I have a new family who accepts me for who I am.
While walking back to my place in the dark I watch out for anything off slightly afraid of how many people were not out. After a sudden gust of wind I grab the knife in my pocket looking around. Luckily, nothing happened so walking back home was pretty peaceful. The whole issue started when I got home.
Once I walked in I heard singing. It was quiet but beautiful. I follow the singing and realize it was coming from the basement. Did Skylar really have that pretty of a voice?
I open the door quietly peaking in. It was her. The only light was coming from the moon outside. Her bright blue eyes were glowing. She seemed stunning for that moment.
The moment ended once she stopped singing. Now she was back to that horrible vampire. I never understood the reason for keeping her alive. I mean our job is pretty much to just kill them. I also didn't understand why for those moments before she seemed so peaceful and not the horrible creature I know she is.
I walk in more smirking just a bit as the urge to at least piss her off grew. I tighten the bolts and chains bringing them up more.
She glares at me, but it doesn't phase me. She can't do anything. I made sure she had to stand up by lifting them as high as possible. "Please let me out?" She begs.
"No. Nice try Skylar."
"It's Sky."
"Not what I've been told." I say and yank them one before letting go. I pick up the cup of blood and put it centimeters away from her. She stares at it. I pour it out stating, "You're not supposed to be singing. I don't want to hear it ever again!"
