chapter 4

Zach kept sending her flowers since the day he found out that Lilly and Adam were a "thing".

It hurt him to know that he blew away his chance, and for what, a girl who was just playing with him?.

He was sitting on his couch his hands in his hair and his head was dropped down.

He felt jealous everytime he saw Mr Adam Mc Perfect get out of Lilly's apartment.

He was human, did he not deserve a second chance?.

Questions that kept playing in his head, he lost his friend and posible girlfriend.

He heard knock and he lazily got up and answered the door.

"Lilly" he said surprised.

"Hi" she said offering a smile.

"Please, come in" he said.

"Thank you"

She stepped inside and they joined at the couch.

"So....what's up" he asked.

"I...I'm here because of the...flowers".

He looked down.

Idiot.

"Do you not like them?" He asked.

"Of course I do...it's just that..." she couldn't finish her sentence.

"What" he asked.

"Adam...doesn't like the idea of another guy...you sending me flowers". He looked at her face.

Oh right your boyfriend.

"I guess I'll stop then" he said looking down.

"Thanks" she said.

"Would you have given me another chance if...if he were not here?".

She looked at the palms of her hands.

"That does....not matter anymore" she said offering a smile.

"It does" he said stubbornly.

"It wouldn't change anything".

"I love you, that's why it does". He said.

She was speechless.

Love...love..
That word it wasn't foreign to her, she knew what it was.

"But I'm with Adam now" she said.

"Do you love him?" He asked hopefully.

Do I love Adam?.
I...do

"Yes" she said smiling.

That evening Adam didn't call nor did he come over.

Lilly was quite worried.

Later that night she heard banging on her front door.

She opened it and found a drunken Adam with his clothes rumbled and tears down his cheeks.

"Adam what happened"

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" he said getting on his knees.

"What, what did you do she asked afraid of the answer.

"I didn't mean to, she just..." he said.

"What..what are you talking about" she said breaking down.

He held on to her legs.

"I cheated on you" he said.

Cheated, better than you.

Zach opened his front door finding a scene he took a while to take in.

"Get off her" he commanded.

Adam got up.

"No she is mine" he yelled.

Lilly was still standing there frozen.

All the images the words everything came crashing down on her.

She didn't notice that the guys had started a fight.

She finally got them to break up, and Lilly told Zach to call a cab for Adam.

"Are you ok" asked Zach.

They were in his kitchen.

"N...no" she said breaking down.

He enveloped her in a tight hug.

"It all just reminds me of...of..-" she couldn't finish her sentence.

"I know baby, it's going to be ok"
