“Zaria, come on dear. I’m not taking you to school if you don’t eat.” Aunt Jenna called from the modern stylish kitchen.

I went through all my clothes, hoping to find a top that’s a little warmer. Damn, how was I supposed to know that it’s gonna be cold and raining heavily. I guess that’s why Aunt Jenna offered me a ride. “Aunt Jenna can I borrow a sweater from you? All I have is thin t-shirts.”

“Sure. But please don’t spill anything on it.”

I ran down the hall and into Aunt Jenna’s stylish black and white room. Opening up her walk-in closet, I feast my eyes upon the sweater I wanted to wear.

I pulled out a grey sweater someone bought her that she never wore. I think it was because it said: “F#CK OFF on the front. I thought this sweater pretty much summed up how I felt about everyone in my school. I ran back in my room and paired the sweater with skinny black jeans and short motorcycle boots.

I applied a thin coat of eyeliner and some lip gloss. I put my hair in a high messy bun, grabbed my messenger bag, and shuffled into the kitchen.

Aunt Jenna sat at the dinner table sipping coffee and looking over the business section of the newspaper. “You’re not wearing that sweater.” Aunt Jenna said while still looking at the newspaper.

“Aunt Jenna, come on. I only have a couple of minutes to get to school.” I whined, sitting at the table and digging into the sausage and eggs perfectly positioned on the plate.

“That sweater is offensive. You shouldn’t wear something like that to school. You were not raised that way.”

“Aunt Jenna.” I pleaded in my whiny obnoxious voice. “—please. Just this once. Please.” I begged.

Aunt Jenna rolled her dark brown eyes. “Fine, but if you get called by the principal, it’s your fault.”

I finished my food and placed it in the dishwasher. “Thank you! Okay, let’s go. I need to be to AP Chemistry in about… Fifteen MINUTES! Oh gosh, come on Aunt Jenna.”

Aunt Jenna guzzled down her lukewarm coffee and grabbed her car keys. “Okay okay. I’m coming.”

“I’m going to be working late tonight. Will you be alright home?”

I nodded, clutching my umbrella for dear life. “Yeah. I’ll get Olivia to take me home and order some pizza. So I’ll be cool.”

“Okay, see you home. Love ya.”

I opened the passenger door and was greeting by bullet size rain droplets. Opening my umbrella, I climbed out. “Love you too.” I ran up the stairs as quick as possible, opening the doors and going inside.

Sebastian leaned against his locker, talking to Tyler. “You were crazy man. Isis was dumbstruck during the party. No one screamed at her before. Ever.”

“I just hate to see people getting bullied like that. I mean I’m a pretty optimistic. I like to see the good in people and I saw something good in Isis, but maybe it isn’t.”

“Dude I could’ve told you that.”

Sebastian chuckled. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a porcelain skinned girl walk passed—looking straight ahead.  Sebastian’s eyes slid automatically towards her. Zaria.

“Zaria, hey wait! I’ll see you at PE Tyler.”

Sebastian took long strides towards her. “Zaria, please wait.”
