**Sorry this is a short chapter:( Next one won't be okay;)**

“Go and lay down on the sofa, Zaria.” Zaria abided and laid down with her arms flat to her sides.

Sebastian found the hardcover worn out book and pulled it out. “This is a great book. My dad doesn’t use this book often. He just keeps it for reference. Now let me find the spell…”

Zaria laid there motionless. “I’m a little weirded out. I mean I never had a spell put on me before.”

“Don’t be nervous, there’s nothing to be afraid of. Ah, here it is. The deep sleeper’s spell. Now listen carefully Zaria; close your eyes and take small deep breaths.”

Zaria slowly closed her eyes, her chest heaving up and down slowly. “Okay, now what?”

“Stop talking, that’s what. Now, just lay there motionless and speechless.”

Zaria did as she was told while Sebastian whispered the three sentence spell. “Invoco Uriel Archangeli. Redde puerum istum somnum et somnium consolatio forte de praeterita vita Azrael!” Lights in the study flickered on and off as a loud gasp forced its way out of mouth and immediately she was rendered into a soundless deep sleep.

………………………….

“Ah!” I sat up, panting heavily. Looking around, I found myself lying in an unknown bed dressed in a white chiffon gown that reminded me of something the Ancient Romans would wear.

Are you okay, Naomi?” A loud squeak ripped from my lips as I turned around to find the man named Lucas sitting at his desk, staring at me with concern. “What?” Clasping my hand over my mouth, I gasp. This wasn’t my voice or didn’t sound remotely close to it. Jumping out of bed, I paced to the mirror that stood near the ceiling to floor length windows.

Staring back at me wasn’t me, but an early 20s’ year old woman with shoulder length blonde loose curls with pure as snow blue eyes and wide pouty lips. Her skin complexion was more fair than pale like mine were.

“Naomi, are you okay?” He asked more worriedly.

Taking a deep breath, I realized that I am living through her eyes. Mentally, I had my own thoughts, but physically, my body was not my own. “I’m okay, just a weird dream. What’re you up so late?” The words just slipped out my mouth like it was rehearsed. So it seems I am playing a character and I had to portray her part well.

“I’m trying to figure out a way to stop Lucifer and Gabriel for good. But I just can’t find a way around it.” He turned his attention back towards the ancient artifacts. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something white and made out of wood. A crib. I ambled forward, hoping to catch a glimpse of their buddle of joy—when Lucas called her/me over. “Naomi, come here. I need your insight.”

Automatically, I walked over and lingered beside him. “What do you need?”

“Here—this, it says: Child of inlustret lumine super animas perdidit infelix. But what does it mean?”

“Child of light shine down on the unfortunate loss souls. I think it is a passageway of some sorts. Like a prayer or request.” Whoa, I didn’t know I can speak Latin. Wait—remember Zaria, you’re only playing a mere character.

“Interesting. Hmm… what does it mean then?”

“I think it means someone will shine down on the loss souls. Maybe it’s talking about you.”

“I don’t think so. I’m the Angel of Death, Lucifer was the Angel of Light, but he forfeited that when he was sent to hell…” Lucas rubbed the back of his neck, deep in thought.

My—well Naomi’s eyes wondered to the ceiling to floor windows that overlooked the Ocean and the cloudy night sky. In fact, we—they were in a hotel facing the ocean. The bedroom was spacious and painted burnt orange while the floors were covered in velvet white carpet.  I floated her eyes to the crib to make sure the baby was still safe.

Ah… “What if the light transferred to someone else? Say… a child or fellow angel?”

Lifting his head up, Lucas stared at Naomi with a strike of geniusness. “Maybe you’re right. Maybe we’re going about this all wrong… What if the pure light that Lucifer once possessed was transferred to someone else?”

“Then we need to find who that is or better yet—we need to consult with the angels.”

“That’s too dangerous. Lucifer and Gabriel will somehow find out and will try to find that person, angel, or object.”

Glancing at the baby, my heart wrenched painfully as a thought skirted through my mind. Her… “Lucas,” She/I said shakily. “Do you think it’s her…? I mean that explains why she’s being targeted by Lucifer and Gabriel. What if they know something we don’t.”

Lucas’s lavender eyes floated to the crib. A moment of silence enveloped us—the only sound coming from the waves hitting the stone barrier. Feeling the need to break the silence, Naomi’s wide pouty mouth parted. “It explains a lot, Lucas. That’s why they let her live, because of what she is.”

“But that doesn’t explain why they want her.”

“Think about it—they want her because maybe she interferes with their plan for “revenge”. I don’t know, but what I do know is that what we think Celeste is—it’ll make her life even more complicated.” I tucked a blonde ringlet behind her ear just too busy myself.

Abruptly standing up, Lucas pulled on his leather jacket. “Where are you going Lucas?”

“I need to get answers. You and Celeste should be alright till I get back. If you need me, call me.”

Nodding, I sat back on the king size bed. “I will.” Lucas kissed her forehead, smiled and disappeared in a mass of orbs that lightened the dimly lit room in pure flushed blue light.

Taking a deep breath, I suddenly felt wrong and polluted. Like I didn’t belong in this body—well technically I didn’t belong in her body, but it still felt weird. A haze of dizziness seemed to encase me. Clutching the bed, a bright light blinded and wrapped itself around all my senses…

……..

“Ah!” Sitting up, I looked around me in a panic.

“Calm down. I’m right here.” Soothing masculine hands snaked itself around me, calming me.

“Sebastian, I think we’re screwed.” Resting my head in his toned chest, I didn’t care that I was in the arms of Sebastian, totally exceeding my “semi-friends” rule.

“Why would you say that? What happened?”

“In order to stop them, we need to get Celeste and she’s dead,” Looking into his amber eyes, I stared at him through a film of tears shielded my eyes. “We can’t stop them. We’re screwed, it’s game over.”
