Three days later
I walked into the hospital finding Drew in her room. "Where are the boys?" I asked him. "Recording I think." He shrugged. I collapsed in the seat on the other side of Abby. She is still out. I'm worried if she won't ever wake up. I've been over here everyday after school. After my meltdown we had to wait for her to get out of surgery. That was the longest fucking wait of my life. The doctor walked in interrupting my thoughts. Me and Drew stood up. "What's the verdict, doc?" Drew asked. "She is doing amazingly well, she is healing at a very fast rate. I think she should be awake by the end of this week at the latest seeing as how her body is out of shock mode. She's very lucky to have friends like you." He said and left. We both sighed and sat back down. He looked at Abby and looked back at me. "I'm sorry for not being sorry, Lydia." He said. Huh? "What are you talking about?" I asked him. "I'm not sorry that I chose her over you, but I'm sorry for hurting you." I was taken aback. He knew!? "What do you mean?"I asked. He gave me that 'really?' look. "You think I didn't know?" I looked at my hands. "No. I thought you didn't." "Three years and you thought I didn't know?" "But I hid it so well I...she told you didn't she?" I asked suddenly angry. He nodded. "I'll kill her when she wakes up." I mumbled. He looked at me. "Wrong choice of words. I'll just mentally main her." I said. Then I thought about it. "Wait. She's already mentally maimed. I'll think of something." I said. He laughed. "How much did you love me, Lydia?" He asked quietly. I looked in his eyes. He really, truly felt bad for breaking my heart. I forgave him a long time ago. "Drew, it was like you were my air. I loved you to the moon and back." I said quietly. He looked pained. "I'm sorry for hurting you." He said. "But I don't regret it." He said. I nodded. But he kept the questions coming. "How bad did it hurt, Lyddi?" He asked. I pulled my knees to my chest and rested my chin on them. "It felt like my heart had been shattered. It felt like I had been kicked off a horse and hit in the stomach with a boulder. But, I could see how much you two liked each other and I wasn't gonna get in the way of my two best friends. But I forgave you a long time ago Drew." I said. He looked hurt, like he was thinking about what I had told him I felt like. "Don't feel bad Drew. I know you love her." I said. He looked shocked. "What?" He said. "Drew, you tell her you love her all the time." "Yeah but that's different." I was confused. He continued. "See, there's the way you tell someone you love them. I love Abby. I do. An I tell her all the time but then there's the I love you that is the 'real' thing. Like it's the I love you that shows just how true it is. And I've never told her that because I've never fully realized it till now." I gaped at him. "Aww! Is the wittle Dwew finawy devewoping feewings?" I asked in a baby voice. He glared playfully at me. "Shut up."
Abby P. O. V.
I heard a beeping noise and voices. My eyes are so heavy. I feel like I got run over by a semi. But the flashes of what happened are coming back. I went to get my hat and BOOM I'm thrown in the air by a bull and his horns caught my side. I remember this terrible pain and seeing blood. I remember Zayn and Drew putting me in the bed if his truck and then lights out. I recognized the voices as Lydia and Drew. "See, there's the way you tell someone you love them. I love Abby. I do. An I tell her all the time but then there's the I love you that is the 'real' thing. Like it's the I love you that shows just how true it is. And I've never told her that because I've never fully realized it till now." Wait what? He loves me? I mean I know that but...damn. Lydia made fun of him and I could feel him glaring at her. "I remember the first time I saw her." Drew said. Lydia shifted in her seat. "I think we all remember the first time we met Abby. I dunno if it's the flaming red hair and the green eyes, or if it's the fact that she's yelling and jumping up and down all the time." Lydia joked. Bitch. I thought at her playfully. I swear I felt Drew roll his eyes. She giggled. "It was definitely the eyes." He said. Lydia was silent. "Aww Drew!" She said, you could hear the smile in her voice. "But the screaming and yelling was part of it." He admitted. I mentally huffed. And Lydia laughed. "We were at the rodeo, and I was on the fence beside you. I had just finished my bull ride and she came out on her horse for barrel racing. She was flawless. Her hat flew off and landed below my feet. She didn't notice. But she rounded the barrels perfectly and she looked so beautiful doing it. I remember taking it to her later, looking in those green eyes saying, "you uh, left this in the arena. I figured you'd want it." And she smiled that dazzling smile of hers. And that's when you came in looking for me. Little spoiler you." He said. I remember meeting him, he was so downright adorable. It was summer and I was new in town. I was in the rodeo and he got my hat for me. Lydia walked in and he looked so disappointed and so did she. We became the three amigos. Lydia didn't say anything, and he continued. lWe were riding in the truck one time and she blasted the radio. She would yell the lyrics to every country song while we were winding down those dirt roads. But as soon as a One Direction song came on she was quiet as a mouse. I sneezed once and she smacked me telling me to shush." Lydia laughed softly. "She hates her hair, wishes she wasn't a red head but I love her crazy hair. It reminds me of the sun set the way it glints and how coppery it is. It's always so soft and I always play with it. She's so beautiful. Her eyes..." Lydia interrupted him. "Oh her eyes, her eyes make the stars look like they're not shinin! Her hair, her hair falls perfectly without her trying she's so beautiful and I tell her everyday..." She busted out and laughed. "Lydia. Really?" Drew asked. "I don't know what you're talking about." She sniffed. Drew groaned. "Drew you need I tell her all of this. I don't think you realize how lucky you are and how lucky she is." Lydia said. Drew let out a breath. "I don't know how. I'm not good with words." "You're doing great now!" Lydia cried. He sighed. "It's different. You're not Abby." "Really? I'm not? Thanks for clarifying." Lydia said sarcastically. Drew sighed again. "It's taken me this long to figure it out. And I can't lose her. I don't know what I'd do without her. I don't know if I'd be more upset that I let your dad down, or the fact I'd never see her shining face again. Or hear a stupid fact about those boys. I love her too much." He said. I finally spoke up. Opening my eyes slowly, wincing at the light. "So it takes me, to be close to death for you to realize you can't live without me huh?" I said. And rolled my head towards him. His face full of shock.

The look on Drew's face. Ha! He shifts in his chair. "I, I , I...."He stutters. She laughs, her voice cracking. She clears her throat. "So, the big boy's finally gone soft?" She teases. "I don't know what you're referring to." He says. He's sitting right next to her bed so she pokes him weakly. "You love me! You loooovveee me!" She calls. He huffs and folds his arms glaring at her. Studying her face ad he finally breaks. Burying his face in her hair. "God, Abby don't you ever do that to me again? D'you hear me! I was scared you weren't gonna wake up again." She just laughs and then winces. He pulls up frowning. "Do you want me to get the doctor?" She nods. He gets up and leaves. I look at her. "You are dead." I tell her. "Why?" " I can't believe you told him how in love with him I was!" I cried. She frowned. "I'm gonna kill him." She said. "And I was only trying to help. I thought that he would love you back but he told me you were just like his sister and he liked someone else. And that's how me and Drew became a couple." She said. "I forgive you." I say. And the doctor walks in. Does a few tests and leaves. A nurse comes in to give her some medicine. And leaves also. The door opens again. And in walks Louis with the boys behind him. "She's awake!" He cried. Abby smiled. It's not everyday you wake up to One Direction in the hospital. I looked up at Harry and smiled and looked back at Abby who was being tease by Zayn and Louis. Harry took his beanie off to ruffle his hair. I stopped him. "Harry! What the hell did you do to your hair!?" I exclaimed. He frowned in confusion. "What d'you mean 'what did I do to my hair'?" He said. I stood up and walked over to him. "Whoa! How long have I been out?" Abby exclaimed. "Did I miss that? Or was this while I was out?" "You were out for three days and no this is new!" I said. "I didn't know! I've been gone." She said. "You haven't been anywhere but asleep. You've been in that bed the whole time." I told her. "Yeah, but I was still gone." She said. I rolled my eyes. "Shut up." I said. "You love me." She said. I ran my hands over my face. I looked back at Harry. "What did you do!" I cried. "I cut my hair." He replied. "Why!?" I exclaimed. "It's my hair." He said. "Yeah but it's mine too." I pouted sadly, reaching for it. "It'll grow back, love." He said. "Yeah but the curls...they're g-gone." I said. He shrugged. "Harry!! The curls get the girls!" I said still pouting. "I've already got my girl." He said. I rolled my eyes. "I'm not playing with your hair anymore until your curls come back." His eyes widened. "No! Why?"He said. "Because I liked the curls!" I fake sobbed. He pulled me to his chest. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize how much you liked them." He murmured. I nodded my head. Sniffling falsely. "Maybe I'll cut my hair too." I thought out loud. "NO! Your hair stays!" He yelped. I grinned. I can't believe he cut them. He kissed my forehead and we turned to the group. They were all laughin at us. And we just smiled happy we were all together.
