Ember had just been about to go into further detail when the doorbell rang and a crash upstairs soon followed. “What the hell is going on?!” Kelrose demanded in exasperation going upstairs to check what crashed.

“Dunno,” Angela shrugged as she made her way to the front door. Everyone else split up, either staying where they were or stood to follow Kelrose.

When Angela opened the door, she saw four people standing on the front porch, two men and two women. One of the women had blonde, shoulder length, wavy hair, and the other one had long, straight, reddish brown hair. Brunette, Angela thought. One of the men had short, orange like hair with a blonde streak in the front. His hair was cut in a style similar to that of Link, from Zelda. The guy standing next to the red headed Link was tall, with short sandy/dirty blonde hair, a larger nose than average and blue eyes, a high forehead and cheekbones, a proud, strong jaw line and the lightest of smiles touching his lips. Come to think of it, all four had smiles lifting at the corners of their mouths. Glancing down, Angela noticed with slight surprise that the two guys were holding hands. Hmm, interesting, Angela though.

“Angela!” Don’t just stand there and gawk at ‘em, let them in!” Kelci said, reprimanding her while pushing her aside to see who it was.

“Kelci, what a pleasant surprise,” redheaded Link said.

“Casey! Wes!” she gasped, rushing towards them and giving them both a hug.

“What about us?” the blonde girl asked, and Kelci hugged them apologetically just as Kelrose and his group came back down.

“Found what made the crash,” Kelrose said loudly, “get in here and see what we got!”

The group of six filed in through the breeze way and stopped when they saw Blandus holding a guy with black hair, in a choke-hold. “What the hell dude? Get off him!” Angela spoke as soon as the kid started turning red then purple, and she started prying Blandus’ arms off from around the boy’s neck.

“He went after Ember, he seemed like a threat.” Blandus said, as he let Angela pull the kid free.

“Couldn’t you have restrained him more safely?” Kelci asked, between the kid’s thankful words and introducing himself as Ecky.

Lowering his head, Blandus mumbled an “I guess so,” and left the room. Seeing the defeat in his eyes, Angela followed him into the kitchen, letting the double hinged door swing shut, while turning the lights on. “Why have you followed me, Miss Angela?” Blandus asked after a moment’s silence.

“It’s just Angela, Blandus,” she corrected him, “I followed you because I wanted to know why—“ Blandus turned around, giving her a look so hard, it cut her off.

“You want to know why I had a mental break down and put Ecky into a choke-hold?” he sank into a chair, and she followed suit.

“That’s not all of it, you seem a bit uptight, more stressed lately,” Angela paused, as if thinking, “is something up?”

Sighing, Blandus reluctantly gave in. "I've been having these strange dreams." He stopped short, her open expression spurred him on, "I think they may be about this case." He sucked in a deep breath, as if waiting for her to burst into laughter, when she didn't, he continued. "I don't know what to make of any of it, it's all so confuisng." Blandus stopped, put his head in his hands, all in all just folding in on himself, like he couldn't stand it much longer.

Pulling Blandus' hands down with one hand, and lifting his chin up with her other, Angela said, "Whatever it is, we'll help you through it, I'll help you through it." She paused to let it sink in, and continued, "I know what it's like to feel like you're at the mercy of your own dreams. I had one just the other night. It about scared the shit out of me."

"Tell me about your dream," Blandus said, after a moments pause, willing to listen so she complied and told him.
