AN:

Sorry about the wait again. April was a busy month for the two of us, but we hope the length of this chapter will make up for the wait. We will be trying to upload at least 3 chapters a week.

Due to the way Dad was driving we beat the moving truck to the house by about 30 minutes. When we arrived at the house, Dad got both of our duffel bags from out of the car, locked it and headed for the house. I on the other hand couldn't move, my feet were stuck to the ground as I gasped at the amazing house that I saw before me. It was a beautiful white house with a black door and black on the window frames. I looked around the area that surrounded me and noticed a lot of the houses on this street looked like the one I'm living in but just different colours. Most of the lawns were well put together with little gardens and looked nice. Ma used to have a garden it was like her best friend, once she died I tried to look after it an make sure it continued to grow. Except one day all of the flowers shrivelled up and died. I took it as a sign that maybe it was time to let go of the garden, but then the following spring one flower began to grow. A tulip. Ma's favourite, an every spring a tulip would grow as a reminder of Ma. I wonder if Ma's flower will continue to grow now that we have left our old house. Maybe I could start a new garden at this house full of tulips, that way a piece of Mami will and still be with me. Also, I think tulips would look beautiful with the house.

When I finally arrived inside the house i was stunned, I could hear Dad and Jackie’s voice, but I wasn't to sure of where they were coming from exactly. They were talking about the house and how our realtor Rebecca would be by soon to see how were fitting in to the house and neighbourhood. I smiled once I heard Becca's name. Becca is more of a family friend then just our realtor.. That just comes as a bit of a bonus. I haven't seen Becca for about a year now, and I've only talked to her on the phone once or twice since then. Becca was our neighbour growing up and I always looked up to her but when she was 17 and a senior in High School her parents died in a robbery. They were on a trip in Alberta for a weekend and on there way back they stopped at a gas station. As Becca's Dad, Robert, was next in line to pay and leave this guy came in with a gun. He asked for all of the money from the cashier and the 3 customers in the store. Just as they were doing so Danielle, Becca's Mom, came in to the store about to ask what was taking so long when the guy heard the door open and just turned an shot. As soon as Danielle fell to the ground from being shot directly in her chest Robert ran over to see if she was okay. Which wasn't the smartest thing because as soon as he got near Danielle the guy shot him too. After collecting all of the money the guy escaped. An when the police arrived Danielle & Robert were dead and everyone involved were in such shock and all said that it happened so fast. Becca stayed over our house that weekend and I awoke to her in the guest room - that she took over as her own - to Ma hugging her telling her it will be alright. Ma died the next year and that's when Becca decided to move to Halifax. I guess she just couldn't handle it anymore but you cant really blame her. After Ma's death and X joining the army she only calls or visits on special occasions ... or when X is home.

I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard my name being called. “Teasha, can you come in the living room for a second.” says my Dad. “Okay, one minute” I said as I walked into where the sound of there voices were coming from. I walk in the entry way of the living room and I see Dad and Jackie in the room talking. Let me just tell you the room was beautiful. Even though no furniture was set up or even in the room for that matter it was amazing. There was a big built in fireplace near the area that Jackie and Dad were standing, around the fire place were built in shelves and to top it all off there was a bay window that faced the front of the house. Since I let my thoughts take over me again I didn't hear my Dad calling my name. “I'm sorry what did ya say Dad?” I replied focusing back on him. “I said what's with you today Baby Girl? It's like you don't want to listen to me at all..” Here we go again with him being all dramatic. “No Dad I was just thinking about how much I like this new house!” I said smiling to assure him I was telling the truth. “Becca did a really good job on this one.” I added smiling. “Well of course. Anyways, we are giving you first pick on the rooms so go look now before we change our minds! Okay?” Dad said as he chuckled a bit. “Okay, great!” I said as I zoomed out of the room to find the stairs in the main hallway that leads to the upstairs. I had to find the master bedroom and claim it for myself. About three minutes later I found the master room along with a bathroom, I'm guessing my fathers study, and two other rooms. I went into the master room once I was done looking around. Inside the room was two doors. I walk to the first one and turn the knob to find a bathroom. Can you believe it? I get my own bathroom. I mean Dad must be getting a lot of money for this job. The best part was the bathroom was a light green. Which just so happens to be my favourite colour. I close the door to the bathroom and head towards the other door. This time on the other side of the door was a big walk in closet on the left side there was a rod for hanging clothes as well as a shelf closer to the door for shoes, and on the right side there was just a rod, and at the end wall there was a shelf.

1 Hour Later

As soon as the movers arrived I insisted they put all of my belongings away first. Once they set up my king sized bed and put together and brought up all my belongings I got right to work. I began to hang up and put away my clothes in my closet and dressers. My desk was set up, as well as my small wall unit for my 30'' inch flat screen TV. I decided taking a break after all of my clothes were put away, so I flopped on my bed onto my back and looked around the room. It all seemed to be coming together well, and I was happy with the house. I have to remember to thank Becca when she comes. Just as soon as that thought went through my head I heard a few knocks on the door. I got off the bed and ran down the stairs getting to the front door first, hoping it was Becca. I open the door only to see two teenagers, a girl and a boy about my age standing in front of me. “Um, Hello?” I said in a who the heck are you kind of manner. “Hi, I'm Jazzlyse and this is my brother Jacob we live at number 23 across the street.” The girl says as she points to the blue house directly across the street.
