Wedding Dance

Richard wasn't part of the wedding planning really, he knew his role was only to show up. 'Kaya niyo nang girls Yan, I trust you' he said. He had only one request, he wanted to be the one to choose the song for their first dance.

Dawn kept on asking him what song he picked. He said na 'Secret ko na muna yun, basta you'll love it'

So there they were. Married. The moment they had been waiting for in so long. Everything that happened that day had been such a daze, the number of faces greeting them congratulations were such a blur.

And when the time came the emcee called them for their first dance as husband and wife, the DJ started playing the song he kept secret.

Suddenly everything seemed to be put on slow motion.

The first time I fell in love was long ago.
I didn't know how to give my love at all.
The next time I settled for what felt so close.
But without romance, you're never gonna fall.

Dawn looked at him so intently on his song choice. Suddenly whispered  to her singing
After everything I've learned;
Now it's finally my turn.
This is the last time I'll fall... in love.

That moment put a tear in her eye... And probably in everyone else's.

The first time we walked under that starry sky,
There was a moment when everything was clear.
I didn't need to ask or even wonder why, because each question is answered when your near.
And I'm wise enough to know when a miracle unfolds, this is the last time i'll fall in love.
Now don't hold back, just let me know.
Could i be moving much too fast or way too slow.
'Cause all of my life, I've waited for this day.
To find that once in a lifetime, this is it, I'll never be the same.
You'll never know what it's taken me to say these words.
And now that I've said them, they could never be enough.

There they were in the middle of the dance floor just looking at each other, until he spun her around and dipped.
As far as I can see, there's only you and only me.

And he sang again the last few phrases.
This is the last time I'll fall in love.
Last time i'll fall in love.
The last time i'll fall... in love.

I love you too. She said.
