Continued from the previous chapter.

After sitting here for an hour I finally decide to stand up and go outside. I open the door and the bright; and might I just add HOT; sunlight hits me like a truck. Damn it must have been really cold in there for me to break a sweat right now.

I continue to walk outside and finally get to the concrete bench that's right in front of the cafeteria. As I sit down my phone starts to ring. I huff in annoyance while taking out my phone from my pocket. I check the screen and it's mom. Of course it's mom. I bet she's calling to tell me she got out of work and she's on her way. I tap the answer button to see.

"Hey mom." I say.

"Hi Maria, I'm walking outside of my job to the car and I'm on way. Can you do me a favor and go find your brother?" She says in a hurried voice. Knew it.

"Sure mom and are you going out with Walter today?" I ask. I hope that she doesn't have plans with her boyfriend so I can go run in the park.

"Actually yeah he just called me." Shit.

"Okay mom well bye." I say in a fake nice voice.

"Bye"

Crap this sucks. I can't go to the park today and I have to go look for Jordan. The worst part is that everytime I go look for him he's in the courts playing basketball. When I tell him that we're leaving he acts like I'm not even there, which is one of the extremely annoying things my brother does to piss me off.

You might be wondering about my brother. The only things that you really need to know about him is that he's fifteen, a sophomore in high school, tall, skinny, and is a basketball player so he's pretty much married to the sport.

The most common thing if you have a "baller life" sibling is watching ESPN or NBA TV. I've grown accustomed to watching Sports Center, Sports Nation, some WNBA games, and movies. Now don't get me wrong some of the things that I actually enjoy are watching some of the flops because they can be pretty hilarious and watching some of the movies about legendary players like Magic Johnson or Larry Bird. They can get pretty interesting, but that's just me.

I stand up from the bench and go look for Jordan where he usually is. Playing basketball in the outside courts. As I'm walking a group of kids pass by. I turn my head and see it's the cross country team. I was planning on joining but my mom couldn't afford it. I hate that my dad doesn't pay child support. Fucking bastard barely pays a hundred bucks a month.

I continue to walk and I see Michael throwing a football to another boy dressed in football padding and gear. I almost forgot the football season starts the same as cross country. I might be able to go to games even though our middle school team and high school team sucks and we lose everytime. One time, for three years straight, our football team lost every single game. Miami Middle and High School doesn't get talented players. It was only last year when I was in sixth grade that we went undefeated, yet our star player left to another school with a better football team. Unfortunate, I know, but atleast most of the other sports actually win.

As I walk into the courts I see my brother make a three pointer. I don't understand why he tires himself before the Warriors' league practice. He's going to do heavy workouts and I'm not helping when he pulls another muscle. I walk in his direction so I can go tell him we're leaving.

"Hey Jordan! Dude we're leaving!" I shout so he can hear but he keeps on playing.

"Come on Jordan don't be an asshole and stop playing we're leaving!" I can't believe I'm cursing infront of his friends. I guess I'm not "lady like" at all.

"Okay fine you won't come then I'll take your bookbag!" I hope this threat works again even though I do this almost every time. I run up to the big pile of bookbags and try to find my brothers. "Come on blue Jansport where are you." I say barely above a whisper. I look around and I finally find it.

"Jordan I got your bookbag right here! If you don't stop playing then I'll take it with me and mom will be really pissed!" I see that he doesn't pay attention so I start walking away.

I hear somone running from behind and sure enough it was him.

"Hey Maria give me my bookbag." Ugh, he's such a dumbass sometimes I can't even.

"Here." I swiftly hand him his bookbag and keep walking.

"So how was your first day of school?"
