I wake up in the morning starving, I didn't eat anything yesterday because I needed some rest. So I went to bed right after I was done with my training. I didn't sleep the night before. I was out late talking to Silver about what we were going to do in the arena and how we were going to plan on survivng. Of course we don't need any help surviving, we will be in the career group. We were just coming up with last minute plans. We are trying to help the other districts.

Me and Silver think that the other districts starving to death, and living in poverty is unfair for the rest of the districts. We are also planning on getting as many people as we can to make it out of the Hunger Games. We are especially hopeing to get district 12 on our side. They are the poorest district, everyone starving to death everyday. We know that we have to get rid of district two somehow, they obviously won't be on our side. Maybe other districts won't, who knows.

"Good morning Jewell!" said my mom cheerfully."I'm making your favorite breakfast, eggs with bacon."

"Hey mom," I said yawning. "I'm starving. I didn't eat anything for dinner last night. It was disgusting anyways," I said sarcastically because it was my favorite food.

"I guess I will never make that again," my mom says in a playful voice laughing.

"No, keep making it please, and mom, I haven't told you about this yet, but...... I'm going to volunteer for the Hunger Games today." I say while eating my eggs.

It gets very quiet for a moment. My mom looks like she is kind of worried. My brother once volunteered for the Hunger Games, he didn't make it. He got all to way to the final two along with the girl from district 2. I will never forget that fight. He threw his axe at the girls leg, she deflected it with her sword. He was weaponless. She ran towards him and beheaded him. My mom and I were crying. My dad died of a disease. He was dead a year before my brother volunteered. I was only thirteen years old. I was all she had left

"What ever you think is best," my mom said happily." Please don't tell me what you have been planning to do for the past three five years."I thought you were joking about that."

"Yes mom, it is whats best," I said." I have to win.I have to win for dad and-"  she cuts me off

"I know, I know," she says crying."You are just the only one I have left that I love."

She comes out of her seat and hugs me. I hesitate, but I hug her back.

"I'm not hungry anymore mom," I say letting go of her and walking up the stairs of our house.

Silver's P.O.V*********************************************************************

I wake up in my home in the victor's village where me, my dad, and twin sisters live. I live in the victor's village because my dad was the victor of the 56th annual Hunger Games. So I've gone to the capitol before. I hated it. All of them looked ugly. With the dying their skin thing, all makes me want to barf. I had just woken up from a nightmare about me and Jewell being the last ones and... I killed her. She was screaming SILVER NO, NO! I was soaked in bed from sweat.

I didn't eat anything yesterday because Jewell and I had been out talking about strategies for the games. We both plan on winning, along with other people. She says that we are not aloud to kill anyone. I'm starting to think that is a bad idea. I'm probably going to kill people without her knowing. It is not that I want to kill anyone, it is just that in order for the both of us to survive, I'm going to have to.

Every single morning, I do the same thing. I grab my stack of throwing knives, and go outside. I have a target right on a tree. I throw once, and then twice, then I do a three-sixty and throw. I hit the target all three times. Then, a knife goes whizzing past me and hits the target and the target breaks from the immense power it was thrown by.

"Great job son" says my dad walking in a slightly cool walk trying to brag."Except you need more power"

"Dad, you won the Hunger Games once, and plus you've trained longer than I have," I say as an excuse."Someday I will be as good as you are, maybe even better." I say with a grin.

"Is that a challenge?" asks my dad."Win the Hunger Games, then I will believe you.You are planning to volunteer, are you?" my dad asks with a smile on his face.

"Of course I am dad, except it isn't going to be the plan that you wanted. Me and Jewell are both going to volunteer in the Hunger Games," I say shyly.

"Do you plan on both living?" asks my dad looking a bit angry."You know you cannot over power the capitol."

"We are trying to rebel and stop the Hunger Games. We are planning to win with a few other people." I say with a look of confidence.

My dad grabs a hold of me and I think he is going to hurt me, but he hugs me instead. It is very silent at this moment. Then he lets go of me without saying a word than leaves. I go into my house smelling the aroma of pancakes. I go to the dinner table to find my two little sisters about to pounce on them. I love there blond hair tied in pony tails. Before they jump on me every morning, I get to them first. I grab them and put them on my shoulders.

"How are my two little angels doing?" I asked, knowing that they hate it when I say that.

"STOP CALLING ME THAT!" they say almost at the exact time.

They jump off me looking angry and go back to the dinner table and start to eat. I go to my chair. The pancakes look so delicious. Pancakes have always have been my favorite breakfast. I find a note on the plate that says Happy Hunger games! I'm disgusted at the note. Happy Hunger Games? That cannot be right. I grab the syrup and pour it all over my pancakes. I'm about to take the first bite until I hear the sound of the bell. It is time for the reapings..........
