Diary of Xia Dragneel
Date of year, 770X
Today I had made what will most likely be one of the hardest choices I've ever made in my life. I trust Igneel in that he will raise my son and daughter safely, training them in the ways of their nature. I trust him, yes, but... There will always be this hole in my heart that I can't quite fill. I know my husband feels the same, but we simply cannot cope with the loss of our two children. Giving them up to the dragon was harder than expected, but it had to be done as quick as possible.
They came to our house, setting things ablaze, trying to get to the baby's crib... My baby boy. Whilst my husband was fending them off as best he could, I was busy talking to my eldest, my first born. "My dear, sweet child... Mummy and Daddy must be off for a journey. We love you and always will.. Goodbye, my love. Take your brother," I handed her the bundle from the crib... "and run straight down the faint path that is behind the house. It will lead you to a dragon's den," Her bright amber eyes widened in horror, and I strangely found comfort in those orbs.
Yes, she was afraid, her eyes brimming with tears, but as she took hold of her baby brother, who was only four months old, she nodded. She knew, my seven year old knew what she had to do... What was going on. She had to escape. I kissed her forehead and watched as she turned and ran down to the cellar, shutting the door behind her. I sat there in the flames, remembering the look of terror on my son's innocent face, his silver eyes wide and fearful.
I fear for my children, of course, but I know that Igneel will raise them properly... They took me and my husband and locked us in a garden. Whilst the garden is quite beautiful, I cannot help but understand and fear the situation we are in. No powers.. They won't work. Our magic energy is gone. They are preparing the spell right now, as I write. This may be the last day I spend alive on this earth, breathing and feeling the magic course pleasantly through my veins... I must write the letters... but I pray to the Gods that my children will remain in the dark... They must never never find the letter, but if they do, then... I can only pray....
Dear son,
I know you do not understand much of us, your father and I. But I wish for you to know that we have loved you since the moment you were born. But on to more important messages. As confusing as I know this is for you to be reading, but if you indeed are reading this, know that your powers must never fail you, my son. You have dragon blood running through your veins, though it may not have awoken yet...
If you are reading this, then I fear for you my son. It means that you have found the house in which you were born, and that means that you are searching for Igneel. If you are searching for the dragon than that can only mean one thing. Demetri is a ruthless dragon empress, the Empress and Goddess of Death and Suffering and she will stop at nothing to achieve her desire, which is most likely your death as well as your sister's.
If you meet with your sister, than fret not, my child, for you will not fail in taking Demetri down. I believe in you, my son.. WE believe in you, your father and I. Wherever you are now, just know that I am most likely dead as is your father. Do not weep for me, my son. Stay strong and fight on. Life is YOUR fairy tale... It is what you make it. You are the heir to the throne of Pyross, the kingdom of all Fire dragons and anything in relation. You rule over fire, my son you ARE the fire itself.
Just remember my son, I love you... I have since I first held you in my arms. In the cellar of the house, there is a pendant. Take it. It is the pendant of Pyross. It shows your status and rank among the other dragons, but you must not wear it in public for Demetri could be anywhere. Keep it with you at all times, out of sight. My dear child... Natsu... I love you...

I glanced over at my husband, meeting his silver eyes, and I cannot be helped but to be reminded of our youngest son, Natsu... As we stand on this stone pedestal, the witch chanting in front of us, our legs and veins turning to stone, a tear slides down my cheek. I grasp my husband's hand in mine and hold tightly, my eyes focused on our rings as they turn cold and grey, the stone spreading up my arms. "Ryan, I love you.." I whisper before I slowly start to lose my sight... My hearing... The feel of his hand in mine... Frozen forever in time... The ascension of fire has begun... My son will avenge... us... I know....
