Chapter 9: Cops and Killers
-<( Jons POV)>-
I ran through the house searching for any signs of Kaeli, no luck, but out back, a bit of dry blood was on the back porch of the house, and I walked around the perimeter of the house finding a small cellar door that was boarded up. I took out an axe from the tiny shed in the back yard and busted the door out of its frame. I climbed down, hesitantly, and into a small room with no light, where I could only see a wooden chair with ropes tied around the arms and legs of it, the ropes were already cut, freeing whoever was restrained by the ropes.
I climbed back up the ladder and looked around at my surroundings, nothing is going as I had planned, I heard the door of the house slam shut as the killer ran away from the house. He had someone with him. I tried to run out to where he was but I was stopped because of the fence he had around his yard, there was no gate so I ran back through the house and out the front door. When I got out there I could see that I was far to late, he was no where in sight.
I looked everywhere he could've went, and followed one path he could've took, but on my way down the road I watched as at least 6 police cars barreled down the road. I followed the cars in the shade of the trees, they stopped at the bad mans house, and they busted the door down and walked into the house. A few minutes later, they returned with a man in custody and shoved him in the back of the car, and it took me a moment to realize it was Jaxon.
They drove away as I watched in shock. How could they possibly take him in, he didn't do anything. But it didn't look like the police were done yet. They were still looking for someone, they walked around the house as I had done, and drove away with the realization that there was still a bad man out there.
-<( Jaxons POV)>-
-( 2 days later)-
I sat in the cold cell being bored as hell, which is pretty much all I have been doing, considering there isn't much more to do in a prison. I know I will be in here until my name is cleared due to the fact I was found with blood all over me. I did explain to them what was going on, but they can't just release me when they have some pretty solid evidence that I had a part in it. But from my understanding they are still looking for the bad man. Which is good I guess, but I don't want to be here, who would, this place is awful and lonely. The people flat out scare me man. It's not right. And I thought school food was bad. Dear God, I was wrong.
I went to the library 'cause I didn't have anything else to do, and took a few books back to my room, where I was presented with a gift. A, beat up, man was sitting in the top bunk just above mine. It was the killer.
"Hi bud," he said with a creepy smile on his face, "I guess we're roomies now."
Oh God.
