Yasmine POV
Because it's time to change my life
To become the woman I am inside
Ninety-seven dreadlocks all gone
I looked in the mirror
And for the first time and saw hey...
I am not my hair
I am not this skin
I am not your expectations
No no, I am not m-I got up to the sound of my alarm....again. "Ughhhh, I dont feel like getting up", I said putting my pillow over my head. "*sigh* I gotta take Niya to daycare." I got out of bed and did my usual hygiene and brushed my teeth. "I should get a belly pierce or tattoo" I said while staring at my stomach. Oh welp. I went to my closet and tired to find a outfit. I have nothing to wear. I really need to go shopping. I decided on a white hoodie that said obey me in red with matching pants with a red 15 on my thigh, and my red shoes. I threw my hair in a ponytail, grabbed my phone and headed downstairs. I saw Niya sitting at the Island eating a sandwich and mom in the kitchen.
"Mornin"
Mom(Tia):"Mornin' baby"
I looked at Niya. "Can't say Mornin"
Niya:"Hi"
Mom:"She's not my mad at you but me." She said giving me a sandwich.
"So when did you get home." I said with a little attitude.
Mom:"2am"
I shaked my head at her. She's never home but on business trips for New and Bold. She has people to handle her clothing line. She has accomplished a lot at 44 but I wish she would at least spend a weekend with us. Maybe I'm asking to much; its not like she does it on purpose she just providing for me and Niya. Though, it's not like I get lonely, I have Sierra, Tyler, Troy, Rico and Ray. However, I looked at Niya finishing her sandwich. Its not about me but Niya. She is only four and never home its usually only us two and sometimes Troy.
Mom:"I have a present for both of you."
Niya:"Rweally?! What is it? She said with gleaming eyes.
Mom:"It's in your room."
Niya dashed up the stairs as quick as her little legs can carry her. Then, something blocked my vision and saw they were keys.
"Are you serious?!"
Mom:"Yup. Go check it out and hurry up"
I grab the keys from her hands and ran out the house. Stood there in the drive way a Pilot-Touring 2015. I looked in the window and saw seven seats through the car filled with bags. Looks like I won't need to go shopping for at least two weeks. I walked over to my mom and gave her a big hug.
"Thank you"
Mom:"Welcome, now hurry up and get out my house and take Niya to daycare."
"Some things never change smh"
We went back in the house and I grabbed my phone, purse and called Niya to hurry up her short self before I leave her. I got in my brand new car and put in my favorite CD in after making sure Niya strapped herself in her carseat. This CD had all the throwbacks on it. The first song that played was Diva.
The music was so loud that the car was vibrating. I'm sorry but that's one of my favorite songs. I looked in the mirror and Niya was jamming in the back saying "I'm a diva, I'm a diva". I burst out laughing and looked at the car next to me. They were playing Big Sean Blessings. The boy in passager seat looked at me smiling. He was brown-skin, dimples, with some cute lips. The light turned green and I stepped on the gas pedal and speeded off. Its 12:20 I arrived at Niya's daycare 10 min. Later and checked her in. Next, the movies.
