Make a Wish

Prologue: Miya Jayne Welsh

I am Miya Jayne Welsh, a 16 year old girl who lives in the High Town. The main quality of the High Town is the competition show, Make a Wish. There are many other competition shows, but none quite so famous. It just so happens, that today, a Tuesday in fact, is the day I am declared eligible to compete.

Okay, I should probably fill you in. Every year, sixteen contestants - eight girls and eight boys - are chosen to compete in a competition, which will be broadcasted to the rest of the High Town. In the game show, the contestants go through sixteen different scenarios with several challenges in each one. To pass the scene, you have to complete the challenges and get votes by staying on the outsiders good side. You don't get votes, you don't get through. You don't complete the challenges, you don't get through. You don't pass the challenges and don't get votes, you definitely don't get through. If you get through all sixteen scenarios, one scenario for each contestants fear, you win the Grand Prize, three wishes.

And you literally get, three wishes. You can wish for anything with them, money, fame, beauty, or even things for other people, like a cure for the Virus or donuts for everyone. The wishes are also granted magically by a magical something. You can have whatever your heart desires. And the best part is, since you kind of have to defeat your fears in scenarios, you're kind of welcomed back as a hero.

There's just one catch.

You lose, and you get sent Underground, where you are stalked by your worst fears. Where all your nightmares come alive to haunt you. No one makes it out of those scenarios alive. And let's face it. Everybody knows wishes don't come true Underground.
