As Cry braced himself for the worst, he feared the worst. Taking a breath, he cautiously made his way to the bed. As he looked down on an unconscious Felix, his heart nearly stopped.
Pewdie was unconscious…. But that was expected. He was bruised and broken. He just seemed… so fragile. Like if he touched him he would break into thousands of glass shards.
Sitting in a chair next to the bed, he thought about the last time he had been here. It was only two years ago…
Cry had run up to his room as soon as he got home. He heard his mom and dad fighting, like always. But this time, there was more crying than usual. Carefully Cry peered out his room… and saw his mom on the ground. His dad was looming over her, his belt in his hands. He saw him bring the belt down hard on his mom, causing her to cry out in pain. He was repeatedly doing so, kicking her all the while. Cry let out a whine; but as soon as he did he regretted it. His father turned slowly, finally facing Ryan with a wicked grin. "Hey, son. How was your day?" His smile was unbearable. Feeling an unfamiliar rage build up in his chest, he let it take hold and dashed down the stairs. When he was almost 2 feet away, he stopped and screamed "YOU'RE A MONSTER! YOU ARE A FUCKING BASTARD, YOU KNOW THAT?" His screams echoed through the entire house. Pushing is back strait, he came nose to nose with his own dad. "GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE, LEAVE AND NEVER COME BACK YOU… YOU… BITCH!" Dropping his grin, Ryan's dad grabbed him hard and threw him down. Clutching his chest and gasping for air, he struggled to keep his eyes open. "HOW DARE YOU CALL YOUR OWN FATHER A BITCH?" His dad was enraged, and Cry knew that he shouldn't have done it. But he did, and now the consequences were coming. Squeezing his eyes shut, he braced for the pain. And it came, hard. His father was beating him; it was hard enough to break a rib. And it did. When he went to the hospital, his own father had lied and said it was a car accident. When the x rays were done, he had a broken rib and a fractured arm. Not to mention the bruises, cuts, and emotional scarring.
Shuddering at the memory, he began to feel tears well up in his eyes. First that… then he raped… then he screamed… and it all started over, every day. Cry can deal with that and still appear happy around others. Cry remembered his life saying… ~it takes one smile to hide a thousand tears, and a thousand tears to make a smile. On the outside I'm smiling, but on the inside I'm dying.~ He couldn't remember where he heard that, but it was inspiring. Just…. It described his life.
Shaking his head, he focused on Pewds. He needed to be there for him, and now is definitely not the time to cry.
Within another three hours of pondering his life and tears he couldn't control, he felt something stir beside him. Quickly drying his eyes and looking wide awake, he saw a dazzling blue flash in Felix's eyes.
I snapped open my eyes to the sound of crying… who was that… and where am I? Pewdie thought. Clearing his mind, he dove into the recollection of what happened. However, it wasn't really long before he heard "F-Felix?" He strained his tense muscles to open his eyes. "Cry…?" he wondered aloud. "Yes friend, it's me." Cry responded. "Cry… c-can I ask you something?" Pewdie just noticed how horrid he sounded. "Sure. Anything friend." Cry replied. "W-were you crying before I woke up?" He pondered. Seeing panic flash in Cry's body language, he knew something was up. But he wasn't finding out without Cry telling him. If there was one thing he learned from being Cry's friend, it was that he didn't crack easy.
