Giver (Jelsa Story) Book 2 of Summit
Prologue
It always starts the same, I'm on a beach, the sun is setting, the sky a perfect orange with a mix of yellow. The waves pushing on the sand, and there's a girl. Her back is to me, her blonde hair blowing in the wind. She's wearing a white dress, a long train behind her, and because of the wind, it's blowing with her hair, her legs showing and I see she's not wearing shoes.
I look down to see my toes in the sand wearing pants that are rolled up at the ends. "Hey." I hear breaking me from my thoughts. I look up to see the girl, her back still turn to me. She moves some hair behind her ear as she turns her head to me her hand still by her ear. I see a small smile on her face, her blue eyes watching the ocean behind her. "Why are you so far away from me?" She asks with a smile on her face. I do a small back and start to walk to her. She moves her hand out to me so I can grab it and pull her in.
She digs her head into my chest. "It's beautiful isn't it?" She asks as she looks at the sea, but all I'm looking at is her. "Yes, it is." I say not talking about the ocean but about her. She looks up at me, her red lips going into a bigger smile, her cheeks getting rosier. "Let's remember this day, forever. Okay?" She says. I nod as I lend my head down to hers but before I could kiss her, everything goes black, and I feel something around my neck, getting tighter and tighter. "No! Please don't hurt him!" I hard to hear whose talking and I don't know that voice.
"I know you have a heart! Please let him go!" I hear another voice says. It's silent for a while then I hear it, "I have no heart." That's when I feel the pain in my neck get worse and a scream, someone screaming for me. Then... I wake up.
