It took me a few minutes to adjust to the scene in front of me. I'd left for class but Freya insisted to stay. Beau had returned from class and wasted no time to start bothering me. Right now, Freya was fast asleep in the garden against the fence with Corgi nestled near her feet.
Without thinking, I swooped down to pick her up and carefully took her upstairs, well aware the Beau, Nate and Luke were all staring at me. I slowly let her down on my bed before closing the door and making my way downstairs.
"I guess cleaning your room wasn't such a waste of time after all huh?" Beau drawled. I rolled my eyes at him.
His tone didn't go unnoticed.
"I don't fucking like her like that." I insisted.
"Sure man whatever you say." Beau replied.
I ignored him and went to finish up some homework as Freya continued to sleep. One of the boys would come into my room every five minutes to check on me and have me shoo them away.
"Cameron? Wha-" Freya said suddenly shooting up. She blinked at me before rubbing her eyes.
"What's going on?" She yawned, pulling at her stray strands. I smiled at the sight before shaking off the weird feeling rising in my stomach.
"You fell asleep at the garden so I brought you here." I explained. She frowned at me.
"Why didn't you just wake me up?" She asked. I shrugged. She squinted at my room before looking back at me.
"Who's your roommate?" She asked, nodding at the bed across mine.
"Nash."
"Your room is surprisingly clean." She said slowly. I chuckled.
Oh you have no idea.
"Yeah I tend to keep it neat." I replied casually.
"Well I should head out..." Freya started to say as she stood up and stretched, letting out another yawn in the process.
"How bout you have lunch first?" I asked without thinking. She shook her head.
"No, no I should go I don't wanna intrude." She said before heading to the door.
"No wait, stay. For lunch I mean. And besides by the time you get to campus you'll have missed lunchtime." I told her, mentally kicking myself for giving the guys more ammo. She hesitated before saying okay.
As I went downstairs, I prepared myself for the scene that would follow.
"Hey Freya you leaving already?" Nash asked her when she reached downstairs.
She looked at me as if she was waiting. I cleared my throat before answering.
"Actually, I asked her to stay for lunch."
Matt raised his eyebrow at me while everyone else was smirking or snickering. I hoped Freya wouldn't notice.
"We're having stir fry and corn soup." Matt announced, pulling a pot of steaming corn soup towards the table.
"Here, I'll help." Freya hurried over to Matt. Matt shot me look before pointing at the plastic plates.
"Sure just bring those to the table." Matt told her.
Freya nodded before scooping up the plates from the counter and heading towards the table. James placed the soup bowls on the table while Skip pulled up an extra for Freya. Nate, Jai and Crawford were having lunch on campus as they had classes after so there were enough seats for everyone in the kitchen.
