"Shut up, it's not that funny." I grumbled.

"Oh trust me cupcake, it is."

So currently I'm at dance class with Jason. I have to admit, I am good at a few things in life however dancing is not one of them. Now here's the thing, ask me to dance in my room with the speakers on blast, I'm all good. But ask me to dance in a crowd full of people who are going to judge you, I am pretty much pathetic.

"This is really hard."

Jason simply clutches his stomach and starts laughing harder. Ounces he's sobered down, he looks at my annoyed expression and his face changes.

"Okay just follow my lead, trust me it's really simple."

Trusting him, I follow his lead, yet I end up fumbling with the steps.

"Dancing is so not your thing Kath."

Somehow this offended me. Now I know I suck at dancing but that gives you absolutely no right to tell me I suck at dancing.

"Uh huh, like you could've done this any better", I say while rolling my eyes at him.

"Are you challenging me to a dance show off?" He asks with amusement lacing his voice.

"No I'm simply asking you, so you think you can dance?"

He simply smirks and confidently walks over to the speakers. He removes the iPod and connects his phone. After selecting a song he walks back to the centre of the studio. The dance instructor left us a while ago, so now it's only the both of us. I move towards the corner, giving him more room to showcase his dance skills.

A few seconds later loud music fills in the room. "Watch me" starts blazing through the speakers and Jason does the most ridiculous dance routine I've ever seen. By the end of the song, I'm laying on the floor laughing with tears streaming down my face. After a while Jason starts laughing too.

"That was the most ridiculously funny dance I've ever seen. Could you please do this again, I want to record it and put it on YouTube. You'll be Internet famous." I say in between series of laughter.

My laughter soon dies down. Jason, who's laying down a few feet away from me, notices this.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"The dance is on Saturday and it's already Monday. We haven't learnt anything, we're going to let our families down."

"Kath, you shouldn't be doing this dance to impress your family. You should do it to make yourself happy. You don't have to impress anyone in this world except yourself. If I cared about impressing people, do you think you would've ever gotten to see my amazing dance skills?"

"You mean ridiculous dance skills."

"Not the point here."

I let out a deep sigh and think over it. All my life I've been doing things to impress others or a prove a point to someone else, maybe it's time to do something for myself.

"You look like Rudolph."

"Thanks Evan, every human likes being compared to a reindeer", I say while taking out some books from my locker.

Ever since dance class got over, I've been feeling a bit sick. Turns out that I may have caught the flu. I hate catching cold. Not only does it make me feel like death is around the corner, it also makes my nose red. And don't even get me started on the coughing session. Sometimes, I cough so hard, I wonder if my lungs want to break free. So it's not surprise I'm being called a reindeer.

Evan simply chuckles at my sarcastic remark and says, "Seriously though, you look sick. Why'd you come to school?"

"Well because we have a Physics test today."

And the look Evan gives me, makes me want to crawl into a hole.

"Did you seriously come to school because of a Physics test?" He asked me bewildered.

"Yes."

"You need to go home, I'm taking you to the nurse and getting her to write you a slip." He says, while practically dragging me away from my class.

"No, help! Help! He's kidnapping me!" If anyone in the hallway even heard me they didn't do anything about it. Great.

Because of the little stunt Evan pulled, I'm here curled up in bed watching the re-run of Breaking Bad. Tissues lie all around me and my room is a mess. Mom is going to kill me. Just as I was about to go to sleep, the doorbell rang. I checked my phone for the time.

12:45

I wonder who that is? It couldn't be Jess or the girls, school was still on. My parents were at work. Maybe it was some salesman. I decided to pretend as if I weren't at home. I really didn't want to deal with a hyperactive salesmen trying to sell me some new product which won't work after two uses.

After a minute or so, the bell rang again. I ignored it again. And then it started ringing continuously. Oh my poor ears! Just when I was about to open the door, my phone rang and Drag Me Down started playing.

Thankfully the salesman decided to leave and I answered the call without reading the caller ID.

"Hello?"

"Katherine I can hear Walts dialogues from out here, open the damn door.", Jason said from the other end.

"Woah wait. You're supposed to be at school, what are you doing here? And it was you who almost killed my innocent ears? Where's the salesman?"

"I'd gladly play 21 questions with you, if you open the door."

I opened the door to see Jason standing there with his usual leather jacket on and a smirk on his face.

"Why aren't you at school?"

"Because you're sick and alone."

"I'm not a child, I can take care of myself, besides you might get in trouble for skipping school."

He simply smirked at that and said, "They don't call me bad boy for nothing."

Oh well it doesn't kill to have some company.
