He looked taken back by what I just said, he then held my hands bringing them close to his lips " I promise " he kissed my hands before pulling my hands making my lips collide with his.

I got distracted that I didn't realize that Emile has been calling my name over and over again.

" RUBY!! "

" Don't shout! " I snap, I felt my eardrums bleed.

" Sorry.. Are you okay? You seem a little off.. "

I avoid her gaze, suddenly the wooden floors seem more appealing than her. I wasn't ready to tell her about Jake anytime soon, heck I don't think I'm planning to tell anyone else. When my brother, Zachary, first knew, he was gonna go find Jake and beat the shit out of him. Of course, I didn't let him do that, I didn't want Zachary to be arrested.

" It's nothing "

She saw through my pathetic lie, but fortunately avoided it.

" So.. Rumor has it someone naughty has been spending some alone time with the academy's bad boy " she nudged my shoulders.

My eyes widened. True, we did by coincidence bump into each other more several times, more precisely, after classes and breaks but it wasn't anything serious or bad ... was it?

I haven't seen him do something terrible.. Yet.

" it's not like that, we're two people who happen to bump into each other every now and then "

" More like hook up "

" Emile " I groaned.

She laughed knowing exactly what I meant, but then she turned serious all of a sudden.

" Hey, Rue. I care about you a lot and I don't want you to get hurt, it's better if you don't ' hang out ' with him ".

I frowned. For all I know he can act like a jerk, but it was playful and I somehow figured he's kind at heart, he did help me twice. I've known him for a week now, but yet again.. I shouldn't trust people so easily ,specially when it comes to boys, just like what happened with Jake.

I once again have just sank into my dark side of my memories.

I hugged Emile for her dear life, she just reminded me of how much I warned myself to keep my guard up. At least that's what I said to myself until Emile left me to do some work, and that's when I found Aiden lying on a bench wincing in pain not that far away from me.

I know I said I won't let my guard down, but helping a person in pain is a must. I'm not betraying Emile nor have I gone against what I said. It's not like we are getting too friendly with each other, it's just helping someone in need. Helping is good. Helping is fine.

Aiden groaned when he tried to get up. I ran to him and gently pushed his shoulders forcing him to lie down on his back.
