I kind of stood there in the kitchen after that morning of curiosity and fright. Mom walked into the kitchen with a plate full of toast and a cup filled with milk. The toast was burnt and mom was spreading old butter all over it. The milk had gone sour, but mom didn't care. She just wanted me to die. She looked at me and smiled evily, then she sneered, "Eat up!" I looked at her with disgust and disappointment. Mom used to be such a nice person, but now it's like she hates everything. I don't know why.
Brim woke up. She stumbled into the kitchen with her hands folded. She looked at me with depression lurking around her eyes and whispered, "Sim," I nodded and replied, "Yes Brimmy?" Mom suddenly glared at Brim. Brim grabbed the toast that mom had finished making and ate it. I don't know why she called me. Maybe it was just another one of my stupid hallucinations. I ignored it for now, but if it continued, I would have to take action.
I stormed out the door and onto the porch. I looked into the woods and saw nothing. I shut the door behind me and slowly stepped onto the grassy meadow that stretched out through the area. I heard a soft sound of humming. It sounded a bit like singing. I looked over by the creek and saw a woman who looked like she was in her thirties walking around. I slowly got onto my hands and knees and began to crawl near her. When I felt that I was close enough. I sat up. She looked my direction. Her face was tan and beautiful. Her blue eyes sparkled and her blondish-brown hair gleamed.
The wolf with the whitish gleam ran over to her. A silk scarf hanging from its mouth. The woman acted as if she never saw me and softly said, "Oh Camia, this is beautiful," She kissed the wolf, or Camia, and placed the silk scarf around her neck. Camia hopped on the woman and licked her face. Camia had a collar on. It shined in the sunlight. I slowly sat down right next to the woman and tried to get a glimspe of Camia's collar. I got the shortest amount of time to read what it said, but I got most of it. "Camia Blue: Manya Richardson". So the young woman was Manya now. I just kept getting even more interested.
"Excuse me," I said in a polite tone. Manya looked at me with a bright smile on her face and she replied with, "Why hello Sim. My dog has told me a lot about you. Continue with what you are trying to say," Now Camia is a dog? This was starting to get very confusing. "Are you real?" I asked, pulling at my night gown. Manya glanced at me with horror. I turned around and saw the man and the girl standing behind me. "NO! Please Sue and Ville don't!" Manya yelled, tears pouring down her cheeks. Camia seemed to be guarding Manya now, but it was no use. The man, or Ville, stormed right past the dog and threw Manya into the creek.
Camia growled and bit Sue's leg. Sue threw Camia at a tree across the creek. I watched with horror how this story started to unravel. I screamed at the top of my lungs and ran inside. Dad, Mom, and Brim looked at me with shock. I looked like a deer in the headlights. I ran to my room and sat on my bed. I looked in the vanity mirror and decided I needed to get dressed. I brushed my teeth, hair, put on clothes, etc. I went back to the vanity and saw Manya staring at me. "Are you real," I said again, my tone a little bit harsher than before. Manya looked at me, her eyes growing large, then she replied,
"Does dead count as real?"
