Anthony's POV
I couldn't help myself.

There she was, being angry and pouty faced. I couldn't help feeling my heart warm at the sight of her. She was still as spicy as I remembered her to be.

When I first met Aaliyah, I fell completely in love with her. That was when I was a kid. However, I couldn't express my admiration for her without embarrassing myself.

We clearly fought, a lot. I loved making her angry. I thought to myself that if she was upset because of me, then she'd think of me all day, and all night.

When we attended school together, we got together at some point. For the two months we dated, we somehow got along. Our views were different, but we were both royalty. Kassim believed it was because she was a 'she' and insisted she'd be a worthwhile Maharani.

"If I was older, I'd already have taken her to Rajput to meet my Indian side of the family. But you..." he made a face after that. I hit him on that.

Despite how much we fought, we found ourselves falling for each other. I was crazy about her after our first kiss. I actually became jealous of any guy she talked to.

Then one day we broke up and things went south for us. We stopped being friendly. We no longer hang out with our mutual friends. I tried not to think of her during the day. However, at night, she was all I could dream about. At first I fought it.

How could I be so weak about her? Why did my cousins get girls they could relate to? Why did I get her?

Because the heart wanted what it wanted. Plus, my parents loved her loads and wanted her to be a part of our family. I wanted her to be my wife, and be the woman I'd bare my soul to.

Aaliyah, as I came to discover much later, had moved on. She asked her parents to find her a suitable groom, and I was infuriated when I heard the news. I hit the roof and swore that no guy would ever take her from me. I would fight to win her back.

So far, so bad. She still hated me. I was left with only one card to play... saving her.

*&*&*&*&

"Go away Anthony, I am busy!"

I shook my head at her. "You will be my Queen, you should listen to..."

"No one like you. I have my own life. And I am not marrying you. Remember our pact? No marriage! Each of us lives their own lives?"

I stepped towards her. "Okay, I know that you still like me somewhere in that heart of yours."

"Nope!" She laughed gaily and turned to go only to let out a gasp. "Tony, we have to go!"

"What?"

"We HAVE to go... NOW!"

I stared in surprise as she ran to the field. I followed her and she reached a point on the ground that had a trap door built into it. She ordered me to go in first and followed, shutting it quietly. We both crawled further from the entry and down a path that got wider as we moved. We finally came across the passageway under the farm that had lights.

WHO WERE THESE PEOPLE?!

"Russian spies."

"What do we do?" I asked her quietly. "We can't go back up... or to the house. It is too dangerous."

She nodded. "I guess we'll have to stay here and wait them out." She led us to a spot and we sat down. She looked very calm, she could have fooled anyone but me.

"Is there like food here?"

"Umm... sure. I saw some canned foods here. Let me get them. Please stay put while I get them. Okay? Stay put, don't move."

I put up my hand. "I won't do anything. Or go anywhere. Unless I have to protect you."

She rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatever."

"I know you still love me Aaliyah," I called out to her. "It's just a matter of time. You will realize sooner or later that it's mutual and we can either start or pick up from where we left off."

"Shut up Tony."
