Okay authors note reaaalllyyy quick. The first week or 2 weeks or whatever nobody even glanced at this fanfic so I decided to stop writing it. Then I went to my junk emails (finally) and saw the Wattpad emails and that PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIKE THE FANFIC YAY! So now I will be updating it A LOT. I'm doing a chapter for each state and the updates won't be consistent but they'll be often. Yes, I know the cover for this chapter is Rusame but I ship it more than FedEx
Ciao!!! (These character are shared amongst the community so they probs won't have the same personality as other fanfics)
----------------------------------------------
Alaska was the first to arrive.
If he knew the reason why, or rather, had a hint of the reason why, he would have built an underground igloo and stayed in it for a good 12 years.
"Is an underground igloo possible? Can I attempt it?" Alaska thought to himself. He made a mental note to try as soon as he gets back to his icy home.Alaska strutted into the capital building, eyes on the USA. "You called?" Alaska asked.
"You're just like your father, Alaska." Russia declared, smirking at America. America just flipped the hair he didn't have over his shoulders and said "Yep. Every one, meet Alaska. 49th state. Right next to Canada. He, well I honestly don't know what he was like as a child."
'Neither does my father' Alaska mumbled
"I got Alaska when he was just a teen." America finished, proudly running his fingers through Alaska's thick white hair.
Canada looked at Alaska with a friendly smile and offered him a cup of coffee. Romano's voice in the distance was heard, saying "Where the fuck did he get coffee?".
"Fratello, he got il caffè from the room down." Feliciano said in broken English.
Russia walked up to Alaska and said "Why the hell did you leave?"
"Dude you sold me."
"Don't say dude."
"You're not my father, bro." Alaska said, using American slang just to piss off his dad.
Russia physically cringed.
"How alike you and America have grown. I can't say I'm proud, though." Russia said, mumbling the last part.
America took Alaska into a fatherly hug and said "Well I am! I remember when you were a teen-"
"Dad no."
"And you were all emo." America said with a laugh.
"Emo?" Germany asked, a bit familiar with the term.
"Yeah. Those teens that act all depressed and dye their hair black and get piercings and rebel. Ah. I'm so glad that was just a phase." The US said with a content sigh.
"Dad stop." Alaska said, cheeks red from embarrassment.
"Oh~! Tell me more! I have a lot of emo children in my country." Italy said, eyes closed. Romano just chuckled and drank his coffee.
"Really, Italy?" Japan said.
"Sì. I'm not really sure where it came from, but it probably came from America or England. Those bastards are infecting our children." Romano answered.
"Anyways," England said, glaring at Romano for the rude remark, "I wanna hear about Alaska's emo phase."
"Dad no we talked about this." Alaska begged.
"Aw come on! I have a few good stories." America said with a reminiscing laugh.
"I'm going to get some coffee. I guess you can tell them then." Alaska said, walking out of the room. Nobody saw Russia follow.
America began pulling up a picture of Alaska in 2001, with black hair that has a green streak in it and a shiny black nose piercing.
The countries began laughing hysterically.
"Yeah. So, 14 years ago, he shows up to Thanksgiving and- oh my god- he gave Nebraska a fucking heart attack. He basically screamed- it was the best thing since freedom was invented." America got collective laughs from throughout the room.
~Meanwhile~
Alaska was putting sugar in his coffee- another thing he has in common with his adoptive father. A habit of drowning the bitter taste of coffee in sugars and creams.
Just as Alaska turned around, he dropped the coffee on his boots and yelped. Russia was right there.
"Hello, comrade. I just want to invite you back." Russia said with a smile.
"Back to Russia? As if." Alaska said with a sneer.
"It was a mistake selling you, you know." Russia said, putting a sturdy hand on Alaska's shoulder.
Alaska had flashbacks to what the previous leaders of Russia made him do. Russia practically tortured him, but Alaska guessed he had no choice.
No matter, there was no way Alaska would go back. He didn't admit it, but he loved America. He was always telling him how proud of him he was. He never mentioned oil or business around him. America occasionally asked about tourism, and even toured Alaska sometimes. During summer, he'd sometime spend a week with Alaska. Just talking and exploring and camping. He loved his dad, so there was absolutely no way he was going back to Russia.
"I don't care if it was a mistake. You still have to pay for it. And you just want me for oil." Alaska said, straightening his shoulders. Russia, just shoved him aside and said "fine, Putin is getting on my ass about you, but I couldn't care less." And left the break room.
That encounter hurt Russia. How could his own kid think he was so heartless? Couldn't be see that he wasn't good with emotions? That he was always being forced to do things by his bosses? Russia felt bad about what he did to Alaska back there, but he can't control his anger or his strength.
Alaska was hurt to. He banged his head on the wall when Russia shoved him. But, that wasn't all that hurt. He just wanted to make Russia proud. He just wanted to show him he was capable. It seems that he'd never be able to make him proud, though. Everything he does goes over his head. It's infuriating.
America walked into the break room and said "Hey, Alaska. You okay?"
"How'd you know something happened?"
"Russia was gone, and as I headed downstairs, I heard a thud and saw him stomping off." America said, walking over to Alaska. They both hugged for a while and then America broke the silence by saying
"I'm so proud of you. I hope you know that. And not because of oil or tourism, but because you've been able to handle everything thrown at you."
"Thanks, dad. I just feel so out of place, y'know? I'm by Canada, not you. And I have my accent and my history, and-"
"That doesn't make you any less of a state to me. To anyone. I fought WWII with a bunch of European countries. Canada was the only one is knew personally and could heavily rely on. England and I were still healing, and France and I stopped talking. I felt so out of place and like I shouldn't be fighting the war, but I kicked Japanese ass and didn't feel so out of place anymore." America said with a laugh. Alaska gave his dad a genuine smile and said
"So, how'd they like the emo Alaska stories?"
"Oh my god, dude. Everyone was literally on the ground crying with some of the stories." America said, getting coffee.
"Did you tell them the one of me burning the bush because-"
"Because it seemed artistic and matched society? Of course! It was hilarious!" America finished
They headed to the meeting room, coffee cup in each hand.No offense to emos, of course. You'll learn that I rely on stereotypes.
So! That was emotional for me to write, but I wanna make it clear that Russia isn't a bad person, he just can't control his anger and stuff. ANYWAYS.. I finally updated! I loved writing this chapter just because I find the Russia/Alaska dynamic so interesting. That's all. Ciao! Thanks you so much for reading!
