My eyelids flickered open as I felt something tickle my face. Light beamed through the gaps of the curtains causing my eyes to squint. As my eyes readjusted, I found myself laid on the lower bunk next to Dave, who had already woken up. He brushed the strands of hair covering my face and pushed them behind my ears. His hand lingered on my cheek, a smile spread across his face as he spoke,
"Morning, sleep well?" As if contaigous, a smile appeared on my face too. I nodded and replied,
"Haven't slept like that in a while." Just as I finished my sentence, the bedroom door swung open with Krist barging in.
"Hey! Will you sleepy hea-" he froze in his spot with his gob wide open. He had spotted us two in the same bunk, with Dave's hand still on my face it probably did look suspicious.
"W-wha?" He stuttered with a smirk appearing on his face. Dave's hand slowly returned back to his original position and tried to get his words out,
"It's not what you think it is, I swear." It fell silent for a few awful seconds, then Krist broke the ice.
"YOU TWO DID IT, DIDN'T YOU?" he literally shouted. I face planted my hand to my face as I felt my cheeks start to burn up. Foot steps quickly lead up to our room and Kurt rushed in,
"You what?" He stared at the scene with a grin on his face. Dave sharply jumped from the bunk ran over to Krist almost stumbling over in the process. Krist was pushed out the room along with Kurt by Dave's force, closing the door behind him. I stayed on the bunk for a few seconds longer trying to keep my cool. Dave was whispering to the witnesses, I wasn't sure why he was being so quiet about it.
I stepped over towards the lads with my arms crossed trying to act as natural as I could. What I made out from the conversation was,
"If you guys could just stay cool, and try not do that again, that'd be great." All three heads turned to face me as I closed the door behind me. I noticed Dave's cheeks redden. It made me feel anxious, and so I stared at my feet quickly to avoid their stares. I quickly spoke,
"So everything's explained now?" Dave nodded multiple times, I looked at the other lads to see their responses.
"Yeah... but surely something happened last night?" Krist tried to squeeze information out of us that clearly wasn't there.
"Nope. Okay, can we leave it?" I said quite sharply, which I didn't intend but I couldn't help. I hate being the centre of attention. Krist knew to keep silent and nodded. Unsure of what to say next, I avoided the conversation completely by walking away towards the bathroom.
I decided to run myself a shower, I hoped by the time I came out this whole palava would have blown over. I spent my boiling hot shower mostly thinking about life as I usually do. After I had had enough of the shower, which I'd spent probably an hour in, I stepped out and wrapped a towel around myself. I probably shouldn't have stayed this long seeing as I had literally turned the bathroom into a sauna due to the steaminess.
Once I was dry, I realised I never brought any clothes in as I practically ran into the bathroom. I had to walk through the house with just a towel around my body, quickly striding through the corridors I slipped into my room without attracting eye contact. Opening my wardrobe to retrieve some clothing, I saw that it was in fact completely empty.
"What the...?" It took me a few seconds to finally click what had happened, rushing into the living room I raised my voice,
"Where the hell are my clothes?" The three lads quickly looked up from their instruments, they were currently practising. Dave and Kurt shared a look as if to say 'what is she on about'. Although, Krist had to hold a hand over his mouth to prevent himself from laughing. I gave Krist a glare, I knew it was him, he's hidden them.
"Krist, I swear to god you'd better get my clothes." I raised a finger towards Krist. He looked round the room acting innocent, then in an instant he shot out. I chased after him, clutching on to my towel praying to myself it would not budge. I searched each room, and as I entered our bedroom the door slammed behind me. It made me jump a little, I turned round to face the door and I found Krist stood against it. He crossed his arms over his chest, raising his eyebrows he spoke,
"Are you going to explain then?" I knew exactly what he was referring to. My shoulders dropped as I let out a sigh. Reaching towards the door handle I ignored his question.
"There's nothing to explain, Krist." I was unable to open the door due to Krist blocking the way. I rolled my eyes and plonking myself on the nearby bunk, I gave in. Krist followed my actions and sat down beside me.
"Start from the beginning, and tell me everything." Krist seemed deeply interested in this.
"Well, last night, Dave was driving us all home from the concert wasn't he?" Krist nodded along. "While you and Kurt were asleep, I sat next to Dave seeing as you two were literally squishing me."
"Sorry about that." He quickly slipped in my explanation.
"Dave was quite tired too from the concert and so I volunteered to drive the rest of the way home. I did so, and Dave fell asleep in the van. When we arrived home, you were all still sound asleep, I didn't want to wake all of you up, plus I literally couldn't be bothered to move. I fell asleep right there, in the car."
"This story isn't very interesting at the minute." Krist admitted. I rolled my eyes and replied,
"I told you, there was nothing much to explain. Anyway, next thing I know, I'm in Dave's arms. He carried me inside from the van and took me to our room. However he couldn't put me in my bunk seeing as it's the top bunk so he let me sleep in his bunk." I stopped there and hoped Krist would be happy with that story.
He thought for a second with a hand on his chin looking suspicious. With his eyes squinted he added, "If Dave put you in his bunk, he could have slept in your bunk. But he didn't. He slept with you. Why is that?"
God he is like a detective. I answered,
"Because... I asked him to." I stared down at my hands in my lap. I was too nervous to see his reaction, as I glanced up I saw his mouth resembled an 'O' shape. Blushing out of control I blabbed,
"I was half asleep! I wasn't even thinking of what I was saying!" I hoped he would believe me, and try not turn the story into something it wasn't. Krist muttered something under his breath that I could just understand,
"This is perfect!" Huh?
"Sorry, what?" I questioned. He faced me again, opening his mouth he seemed excited about what he was about to tell me. Although at last minute he changed his mind, instead he replied with,
"I can't say." Confused by Krist's odd reaction I seriously had no idea what was going through his mind.
"Why not?"
"Because I promised I wouldn't tell," after that he stepped up and walked over to the door. I grabbed the material of his shirt around his wrist,
"At least tell me what it's about!" I begged. He completely ignored my question and changed the subject,
"Oh yeah, by the way. I don't want Dave to hurt you or anything, okay? If he does anything and it upsets you, tell me." He seemed serious, as if acting like my big brother. I've always thought it was cute when he looked after me. I smiled and gave him a gentle squeeze before letting him free.
"Thank you Krist, but I don't think that's necessary."
"Just in case," he opened the door to leave the room, I quickly shouted,
"Don't forget my clothes!"
I heard a faint 'oh yeah' of realisation by Krist, he soon returned with my clothes attached to hangers. I thanked him, then continued to get ready for the day.
