Waking up

I, sadly, woke up. It looked still night outside, but I could see the sun rising slowly. I recalled everything that happened yesterday, and somberly got out of bed. I saw a clock and it read 4:46am. I could hear my parents snoring, and my brothers video games so I decided to sneak out to the stream. The stream was my safe place, my hideaway. It was amazing there, being alone with the stream to muffle the sound of sobs. I didn't even bother with makeup, if I was caught I'd be downgraded for breaking the curfew, but honestly I needed to get away. I climbed out the window, and ran across the road and dived into the trees, praying no one saw me. After a few minutes, I felt safe creeping further into the woods, I didn't want anyone to see me. As much as I hated our society, I didn't want to be anything lower than a Perfect, being a perfect has some downfalls, but its better than any other group. I stayed down and slowly crouched and waddled to the stream. I could hear the stream and began to get excited. I hadn't been to the stream since the beginning of the school year. I heard a twig snap and paused, instantly. I slowly looked down to see if I had snapped the twig, but it wasn't me. I lowered myself closer to the ground. I looked around and saw a figure standing there. It was looking around. It had stepped on the twig! I noticed its clothes were torn and ratty, obviously someone of the lowest class. They wouldn't be out this early, past curfew. I stood up and looked at it, it started to run, then stopped.
              "Who are you?" I whispered.
"Well, who are you?" It replied. It was a mans voice. I didn't trust the voice, not one bit. I eyed him, he was tall and muscular. He had green eyes and tan skin. His jawline would cut you like paper. "I'm Thaddeus." He said. "You can call me Thad." I stared at him. I felt like I should run, but I felt like I needed to stay.
"I'm Alice.. You can call me Alice." I said, with a smug look on my face. He smiled, and let out a small laugh. He had perfect teeth, and dimples when he smiled. "Why are you out here?" I asked.
"Its beautiful out here, and the stream is good for blocking out thoughts." He said. I admired his posture, and the way he spoke. He seemed like a Perfect.
"Are you a Perfect, or an Outsider?" I questioned. He was confusing and mysterious, and honestly.. I liked it.
"My dear, I was a Perfect, but as you can see now, by my rags, I've been downgraded to Outsider. I rebelled against the government, and downgraded all the way down in one simple fall." He paused before continuing. "But it was so worth it."
"You rebelled against the government?!" I questioned. "How old are you?" I asked, and I slowly walked to the stream, hoping he would follow.. He did..
