Chappie Twelve!

Sorry for the slowest updates ever I've been busy lately!!! :'(

Prince Natsu Dragneel Dreyar

"Wait... What?" I frowned at my brother, Gajeel.

He rolled his eyes and paused his Xbox game.

"How thick can ya get? I said, she went to town. To go buy somethin."

That wasn't like Luce. She wasn't a morning person. Every day since I met her, two weeks ago, she would be tired as hell when she woke up.

Which was between ten and noon. So what was she doing?

"Hey, move it. Your big fat head's in the way."

"Shut up."

I made sure to slam the door behind me.

Would she be okay by herself? She's never been in town before what if she gets lost? It's quite big...

"Natsu."

Did he have to bother me now?

"What the hell d'ya want, baka?!"

"For once in your life, shut your damn mouth Natsu, and listen."

Gray glared at me, and crossed his arms across his bare chest.

"Maybe if you'd stop being a-"

"There's been a commotion in the town square," He blurted.

That caught my breath, and my heart clenched.

"Wh-What?!"

"My presence here is obviously unwanted, so I'll just take my leave."

"GET BACK HERE YOU BASTARD!!!"

Gray sighed.

"I have no more information. Mum just told me to pass it along to you. So there."

I growled and stormed past him.

Luce... I'm coming... Don't worry.

>10 minutes later<

"Luce! Luce! You're fine, thank god."

I had found her sitting at the town fountain, eating a pastry. In no trouble whatsoever, besides the occasional annoying pigeon.

Lucy, decked out in a pastel themed outfit, frowned at me.

"Why wouldn't I be? I have a good sense of direction, y'know. I'm not hopeless. I can very much get shopping done without anyone hovering over me."

I looked at her sheepishly.

"Gray told me there was a commotion out in the town square so I thought- I thought-"

"You thought I was in trouble?" Luce looked cross, but beneath that I could see a thin layer of affection and gratefulness.

"So, Luce, what'd ya get?" I attempted to sneak a peek into her shopping bag.

"Tch, nothing for you." She yanked the bag away. "I got Lady Mirajane some nice perfumes, however."

I gave a pouty face. I looked up at her, but she was looking past me, obviously distracted.

"Hey... Natsu... What's goin on over there?"

"Eh?" I remembered Gray's vague message.

I turned around.

Thick swarms of people were crowding around the center of the square, chanting something. I listened.

"BURN HIM! BURN THE MAGIC! BURN HIM! BURN THE MAGIC!"

"...magic...?" Luce said faintly.

Oh shit. I forgot to tell her about the mess my family was in.

But what was going on? Who else had committed one of the worst crimes, punishable by death? The use of magic was not an action one took lightly.

Grabbing hold of Lucy's hand, I shoved my way through the bustling crowd.
I heard pieces of people's conversations.

"Serves him right..."

"... But he looks so young! Twenty at the most!"

"Oh Sue, bless his heart, he's holding a Celestial Key! Who knows what'll happen to him."

"I can't see his face! He's wearing some sort of cloak."

"Billy, I can't watch! I think they'll execute him in public!"

My eyes widened and I ran faster.

Lucy suddenly stopped, and my hand slipped from hers.

"Dammit Luce don't do that! Luce? Luce?!"

"N-Natsu..."

"Luce! What is it?!"

"Isn't that.... Your brother?!"

My stomach clenched and I whipped around. He was staring at me with intensely with his deep, oak eyes. Unblinking. He was covered with an overly large cloak, and all but his eyes were hidden by a hood.

My brother, Mystogan.

Caught between two officials who were extracting the keys from his hands.

"NO!!!" I roared.

And then all I saw was a red haze.

People screamed and the public square went up in flames.

>Curtains close<

Welp that's the end of that chapter!

Minna-san, I'm so terribly sorry for this slow update and my inactivity; recently I've been very active on mah PicCollage account.

Do ya guys think I should continue dis story? I could use some encouragement....
