I had a doctor's appointment at 10:30 this morning, and I had gotten up at 7 today due to nerves. Nerves about meeting your soulmate? My brain teased. I pushed the thought away. A soulmate isn't important. I scolded myself. It was only 8 and I was all ready, so I thought I would hit the grocery store first then I would have time to bring them back to my apartment. I got in my car, and for the first time I really took in its crappiness. It's paint was slightly chipping and that dent from my first parking incident really caught my eye. I turned the key and backed out of my driveway, taking a left towards the grocery store. It was only about a 7 minute drive there, I lived right outside of town. I parked in an almost empty lot and walked into the grocery store. I greeted a worker there, recognizing her from other visits. I grabbed a basket and wove through the aisles, grabbing the items I needed. I suddenly felt that I would meet my soulmate soon. I could feel my clock was at only minutes left. I don't know how I knew this but I did. I was looking at different brands of tortillas when I bumped into a stranger. I whipped around and saw a man about my age. I glanced down at my clock. 0 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes, 12 seconds. Would it be him? "Sorry, I wasn't looking." He said and quickly moved on.
And I was left staring at no person.
No seconds.
No soulmate.
A/N- I had fun writing this story and I hope you had fun reading it! There may be more stories with this same storyline later, but I will be experimenting with different types of writing.
