I placed my hand on the flower crown, and Aphmau's did too. Our finger were centimeters from each other. Then, our hands touched.

"Oh, i'm so sorry Garroth."

Aphmau pulled her hand away, and I felt myself blush. I picked up the flower crown, placing upon Lady Aphmau's head. She held her hand on it, making sure it didn't fall off again.

"Thanks..."

She smiled, looking back over the railing. I did the same.

"So, why did you REALLY want to come out here today?"

I looked at her, she didn't even glance at me.

"L-like I s-said...t-to see y-you and t-the b-boys..."

Aphmau finally looked at me, starting to look concerned. But, that quickly turned in to her normal giddy, energetic self.

Then, she began to laugh.

"You stutter a lot Garroth, why is that?"

I felt my face turn red, but I couldn't hide it this time. I no longer had my helmet.

"I-I d-didn't r-realize..."

I turned my face away, but I could still her Aphmau's chuckling behind me.

"Well, whatever reason you did decide to come visit us, I'm glad you did. Malachi, Levin, Zoey and I, are usually alone. Yes, I make my daily rounds, checking on the villagers...but ever since..."

I looked towards Aphmau, her eyes were beginning to tear up.

I placed my hand on her shoulder, she wiped her eyes and faced the water. We both knew what was wrong. It was all my fault she was upset. I-

No, I don't even want to think about it.

She shook her head, and put on her bright and beautiful smile. She looked straight ahead, her eyes fixated on the water.

I looked out too. The water was calm, gentle and beautiful. Just like her.

Everything is fine today, so far. No O'khasis, no war, no commotion, no Zane...and no Laurence.

The last one I meant jokingly. Laurance was still around of course, like usual, but he wasn't bugging me. Mostly not embarrassing me, but I was pretty much doing it to myself right now.

"Why are you wearing that outfit if you don't mind me asking."

Aphmau shrugged. I just noticed she wasn't wearing her new outfit. It is strange to see her this old-fashioned after the past year.

"I-I...I don't know..."

There is something wrong...maybe it's because of-

I shook my head, to get these thoughts out of my head. I continued looking out on the water, the sun was beginning to set, I had to go soon- I didn't even realize it was that late.

"Well, I should be heading back to my place...I have some errands to run."

I turned around, feeling Aphmau's hand grab my shoulder. I looked back to see her sticking out her lip like a toddler.

"Do you really have to go?"

She looked up at me with twinkling eyes...

"Yes, I would love to stay...but I made a promise that I'm going to keep."

She nodded slowly, sliding her hand off of my shoulder. She turned back to the railing, looking back at the water.

I walked over to the staircase leading downwards. I saw Levin and Malachi playing with blocks. It's been so long.

Ever since that day three months ago when-

I was interrupted of my thoughts when I heard a scream. A scream that made my heart race.

"HELP, GARROTH!"
